While Shepherds WatchedHi Trevor, right off the top of listening to your song I could tell that your final project could stand being remixed and mastered. As to the music content itself, the words have much meaning and the storyline is clear. The guitar is fine throughout the song, although, I felt it could have had a more melodic approach to the tune. Your vocal harmonies were pretty good. In summery Trevor, your mix is the weakest part of your presentation of this song. Other than that... pretty good song!
Good Christian Christmas country song.Hey Trevor i really like the melody. You also have a good voice for country singing. I only listen to a little bit of country , but if the song is good enough i can listen to it over, and over and this is a good Christian/ Christmas country song.Keep it up God bless!

BeautifulThis is a beautiful Christmas sonh about our Lord. It tells the story of that night beautifully. I love the guitar playing too. Sounds so beautiful. It would be awesome for you to sing it in a Christmas play also. I really enjoyed listening to it even though it isn't Christmas. God Bless your ministry.
Love the heart behind your vocalsVery pleasant song... Simple guitar and vocals were perfect. The harmonies were spot on. I enjoyed listening to this song very much. Keep doing what you are doing. Hope to hear more from you.
Trevor ToewsThis is so beautiful and a reminder of that Holy Night. What a unique voice You have! Your music needs to be heard across the earth. Keep making pure music with meaningful lyrics Trevor. Spread the gospel via Your music brother
Calm MelodicThis is a nice and calming ballad that puts me in the mind of the Christmas tell of Christ’s arrival to this earth. Nice work on the harmony too. The acoustic guitar gives it the right touch.
In MY OpinionGreetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed the soft guitar work. Bright and clear. Think about a solo break to step away from vocals for a short period. Vocals are smooth and natural, sort of - down to earth as they say, and extremely peaceful. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. Great message in this song. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny
Make It HearableHi, firstly I want to say continue to pursue your musical dreams. Keep the Lord first. I can only imagine this is a great song, but the trouble I have is the volume. I am definitely unable to hear what you are broadcasting. Could be the microphone, or could be the acoustics of the room. I'm not quite sure. Please go back to the original recording and adjust levels. I'd love to truly hear what the Lord has given you to share with the world.
Well-crafted Christmas songTrevor Toews has written and recorded a pretty Christmas song in 6/8 time. The guitar intro is well-played and tuneful, and sets the tone for the entire recording, which is done acoustically, with guitar and 2-part vocal only. The style is country/folk, and the song is well-crafted, painting a vivid picture of the angels' visit to the shepherds in the fields on the night of Jesus' birth in Bethlehem. If it were to catch on, I could well imagine this song being sung by large crowds of worshippers or C&W concert-goers. The one thing about it that bothers me -- only a little -- from a songwriter's standpoint is that the very peaceful mood of the tune throughout doesn't capture the wonder and amazement of the angels' appearance, or the soaring glory of their song. For example, "O Holy Night" is also in 6/8 time, with a peaceful undercurrent, but it swells to grandeur and majesty with "Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!". There is no moment like that in "While Shepherds Watched." From a recording standpoint, I don't want to be too fine, because this is a low-budget acoustic approach, and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't wish to hold this recording to the same standard I would hold an artist with a $2000 per song budget in a commercial studio. That said, the way the voice is recorded makes it sound like it's coming from inside a box in the room next door, rather than being the main presence in the room. The guitar sounds more clear and present. The guitar work is very good, so I like having it clear and present. I would just like the vocal to have that same quality. It's a good song, Trevor, and I'm looking forward to hearing more.
ShepherdsNice song and good harmony. It's always a great idea to write and record several Christmas songs late in the year. It's an awesome story you portray through song. Keep up the good work, good friend. Talk to you soon!!
Loving a new Christmas songI so enjoyed the idea of a new song about the birth of Christ. The music is smooth as always, love your style, and the story you tell never grows old. As it grew into the background harmony the experience took me higher. Harmony adds so much to a song. I believe everyone should hear this song so lets get it out there. how can I share it on my facebook page? keep up the great work you do. actually I would love to sing this through the Christmas season.
Peaceful harmonyI love the fast tempo stuff u know that...this lullaby is smooth all your music is one sided...ab unbalanced weight is an abomination....when u gone sing about the wrath of God... and the IMPORTANCE of obedience
