This song is very cool and has a large groove with that punchy bass just keeping it real. The lead vocals are like non other I have heard. The vocals just sucks you into the song. The mix and production are very good. The instruments used are very natural and raw and I like that. The back up singers really compliment the entire song. Great hook! Very current production of this song. This song easily falls into soft rock and pop rock genres.

Travis Nay brings us This is the Moment-This is the Time... A great throw back to the 70's and the various groups that were of the R&B variety like Earth Wind and Fire and Kool and the Gang and Chicago where that certain integration between vocals and instrumentation and the backbeat truly came to its Funk perigee. From a listener's perspective this is pure throwback to the days of Soul Train and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert or Burt Sugarman's The Midnight Special. From a producer's perspective, the only authentic aspect I would have changes was to make sure the begining old school guitar was more in tune. That can also be attributed to a guitar player "grabbing" the chord with too much force and bending one or more notes out of tune with the chord itself.... Other than that I really do enjoy both the overlapping between parts and the stereo imaging that is created and ever so gently toyed with over the song without it being too prominent. The mastering maintained a great deal of dynamic range but there is some muddiness in the lower mids where the bass and kick drum and snare fight for clarity. Other than that I feel this song is spot on. Well done!

Funky rock, very reminiscent of seventies disco. It's got a driving rhythm with a prominent bass forcing it along. even the guitar has that seventies feel...kinda 'Shaftish'. Very tight and together band so get up and dance. Vocals are different to most of Travis's songs. or at least the dozen or so I have listened to. One verse sung by Travis and repeated. Simple message, see the song title. This verse alternates with a backing vocals verse from the band which contrasts with Travis's smooth vocal style. It gives a good effect which is quite original. all in all a great production which makes you want to play it again. Not what I would call sit down and listen to music but it would make you zip through household chores etc. Party music. Travis is a man of many styles, a very rare thing in the music industry. Most people like their artists to follow one genre Travis has several, from gritty blues to smooth crooner with rock funk latin and others thrown in. A brave thing to do in the music world. Look what happened to Dylan in the 80's! Travis went on my facebook yesterday with his song 'Hey Man' check it out ..great song. Keep up the good fight Travis you are not alone :)...Richard Turton T'Zide

A wonderful track by Travis Nay that is difficult to pin a genre on. Blues, R and B, funk, alternative rock this is a musical dish choc full of ingredients that blend together to provide a tasty treat. There are strong echoes of David Bowie circa his Young Americans phase and southern rock inflections. Beautifully produced and structured with outstanding work by all of the musicians and singers involved. There are some wonderful backing vocal flourishes and the rhythm, rhyme and meter of the song stays with the listener long after the track has finished playing. Outstanding.

THE TRACK REMINDS ME OF 70'S FUNK BORDERING ON DISCO BEATS KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND PERHAPS I THINK THE BASS AND DRUMS NEED TO BE MIXED RIGHT UP AND THE VOCAL COULD ALSO GO HIGHER IN THE MIX THE BACKING VOCAL IS LOUDER THAN THE LEAD VOCAL I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE DIVERSITY WITH THIS TYPE OF SONG OTHERWISE YOU RUN THE RISK OF IT SOUNDING REPETITIVE AND SLIGHTLY ONE DIMENSIONAL IF YOUR ASKING ME WHERE IT FITS I WOULD PUT IT SOMEWHERE BETWEEN DANCE AND ELECTRONICA WITH A RETRO VIBE NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING YET STILL PUSHING OTHER MUSICAL BOUNDARIES GOOD EFFORT

Good question about the genre. I would have to put it into the rock category. I love the energy of the track. The "chorus" really does grab you. The wide vocal mix is interesting and does help make the whole song stand out. I had to listen again to see if I could figure out what you want people to do now as opposed to waiting. Perhaps we're supposed to know. I like the "don't wait" message but "come on down" to where? The two parts don't seem to make sense. As you're a Christian band I can only assume that you're talking about getting the bigger picture. I would love to understand a bit more from the song. Overall, though, the song is moving and catchy. Good luck with it!

Good fusion

I like the fusion between different genres of music....guitar riff wouldn't be out of place in African artist catalogue. Funky, soulful, dreamy...great harmonies vocally and musically..great effort.

Unique Mix

What a mix of genres! That opening riff sounds like a lot Led Zeppelin riff. The drums have a nice dancey feel. The vocals to me have almost a "Rock Opera" feel. Very thematic and theatrical. The lead male vocals have a David Bowie flare to them. It's a unique track. A bit repetitive but overall it's quite a strong song.Love the whispered ending. Interesting form and production. I enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

Me ha gustado mucho esta canción. Es de lo mejor que he escuchado en los últimos días. Tiene un estilo muy original. Me han gustado mucho los coros y el timbre grave de la voz. Mucha suerte. Saludos desde España!

Moment in Time

The song title is a bit long, but that's ok. I like the guitar intro which is fun and engaging. The backup vocals are easy to understand. The lead singer, however, sings in a key way too low for a song like this. Whether its a lack of range or intentional, the song enjoys life with the back up singers which seem well produced. The music in the song is well produced, it seems like it could be mastered a bit differently. Good effort.

Pop? Soul? Disco? Funk? Or Rock?

Really difficult where to put this one into. It's got a dance groove for sure which is not really funky, at least not in all parts, but it makes ya move. For soul or R&B the lyrics are not personal enough, which is fine, please don't get me wrong. It's just not a love song. Some of the vocal parts rather remind me of a spiritual. In the end it's an interesting mix of styles with influences from the 70s and 80s but in a contemporary frame. I have no better idea to put it under "Pop" which to me is not negative at all. It just means that it could attract fans from different genres, and that's a quality in itself.
