Reto Sounds from 'Lollipop' scenes ? ;-)Hello again SID BRAZIL - and again thank you for asking me to comment and review your Instrumental composition 'Entradecer com amigos'. I will be honest with you I haven't personally written an instrumental since I was fifteen or sixteen years of age and learning my guitar and dreaming i could be as good as Carlos Santana! But I will approach this as a producer not a songwriter. First of all I loved the sound of the B3 organ or was it a Farfisa on the intro. I'm a sucker for that Lesley like vibrato that slides in after the cymbal shimmer and it drew me into the Intro section perfectly with that 'tension chord 'sustained but subtly changing behind the simply stated intro guitar hook for a perfect 12-16 second intro into the main musical theme or verse section were it a song. I didn't like the SOUND of the keyboard lead. It dated your clear and catchy melody and brought to mind 80's porno sound tracks or television romantic scenes, however I liked the AA BB rising structure of the opening melody. Nice use of repetition and variation which serve to intensify the listener's emotion followed by the understated C melody introduced by the guitar. I nice use of 'Call and Response' between the romance of the Keyboard and Stringed musical Characters. This 'C' melody might be considered as a LIFT if it were a song and again I like the IDEA of the strings of a Violin section coming under the gentle statement of the lead guitar. I think the soaring D section guitar lead also really worked and acts well in it's role of CHORUS, although again I want to emphasise that the TONES age the tune! the change in guitar tone also happens around the 2 minute WALL - where in general the ear needs to be stimulated or re-stimulated with something NEW or Different sonically or melodically, and you do that. Nice work. The reminder of the tune can be seen as a 'heightened' second verse Solo and Outro -but I feel like you lost your way a little here and the ascending scales reveal slight limitations in your fingering technique. You might consider over dubbing or comping these again so they are perfect. AND updating you keyboard Sound Library and Guitar pedals/tone unless you are focused on making pieces for retro movies and lollipop videos ;-). Good luck with your music Best to you Lucis Starling
Entardecer com amigosSolid intro, drums feel relaxed, even, I like the modulation, one chord to five chord, one chord to five chord, and so on.The keyboard and bass are full and wants to go somewhere which is good. But after a bit it becomes to predictable and even with the electric guitar soloing it begins to become repetitive and you are wanting something to move. Then you aren't certain what the essential melody line is or is there just a dance around the tonic, sub dominant and dominant tones in the major scales with a hint to the 6th degree and major 7th. So basically, you had me, but then you lost me. When the finale came I thought "Oh great; the bridge". But instead the piece ended. Also, there were a couple of flubs on the soloing. Granted, it was slight, but it was present. On a piece like this everything has to be neatly plotted out. And the verse, albeit repetitive must be strong and stand out. The listener must be able to pick it out and be able to discern it from the solos. Too much work went into the basic tracking to throw this away. Just rerecord the guitar work with decisiveness and authority. Granted, it takes work but you can do it. I would also consider keeping the acoustic guitar in play, doubling on the melody, or even coming back around and playing the third above. Also, keep it as a rhythmic track as the selection evolves. You can possibly do a chord run with it as the electric guitar does it's final turn around to add spice. The stew must be stirred to keep it interesting without going over the top. It is subtly difficult, like walking on a tight rope, but then, it makes a good song or instrumental so compelling. For right now it feels like a practice or an exercise. Keep it honest, Viva Brazil. best regards.

In MY OpinionGreetings, Thank you for choosing me to review your work, I count it an honor to be included in such a task. My hat is off to you and anyone willing to step out and share their gift, talent and love of music to the public. Be it a musician, singer, song writer, actor and so-on. I myself, via 40 some years of experience in the fields, on the road, in the studio, radio, TV, video, and management, consider myself to be a seasoned musician, singer, song writer, studio-sound tech/engineer/ owner/operator, stage manager, find it sometimes hard/difficult and perhaps not even fair to sit in a seat, voicing My Opinion concerning another's creative efforts. Especially in certain genres of music I am not all that familiar with concerning very important elements that make up and meet the required standards to justify the various levels of ratings and grades. So, in saying ALL that, I will limit myself to MY Opinion concerning the quality of the work according to My ears, and the standards I have been familiarized with thru-out the years. I hold to the old - saying " Beauty Is In The EAR of The Beholder ... LOL. The sound quality of the recording over-all is very crisp and bright and clear, I really enjoyed all the guitar work.Think about a solo break of another element outside the guitar to step away for a short period. All parts are smooth and natural. The mix levels let me know who was still in charge of this song. Very easy to sit back and listen to. I mean no offense in any part, I myself take all feedback and use it as a tool toward my next project. I pray you feel the same way. Either way, I say to you, keep doing what you do, keep kicking and enjoying what you do. I tell folks all the time for many years. When it stops being FUN, then it's time to stop, and stand back and think about what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, what we and others are getting out it. Is it what we want, and how we want it. IF NOT. what are willing to do from there? Thank you again for asking MY OPINION. Johnny
Review -Sid Brazil - Com Amigos -By LaSueedeTo much electronics and the drums give the beginning a synthetic feeling. The guitar sounds natural when you not distort it to much but to much noise and electronics ruins the natural sounds in the song. Try to either find real wav files for the drums and to distort the song to much. It only ruins som beautiful notes and gives the listener headache. Our wonderful nature creates the best natural sounds. The artificial gives you to much headache. Regards LaSueede
Entardecer dom AmigosHi Sid, thank for the review request. I must start off by saying that I have never reviewed an instrumental before, so here goes. The guitar playing is absolutely superb through out the entire ''song''.It is really on the button, in-so-far as tone, style and playing ability are concerned. The rest of the instruments are all beautifully blended, with a lovely eclectic feel which makes this tune move at a good pace. My only ''complaint'', for want of a better word, is that the bass playing could have come to the fore just a tad more, other than that small ''gripe'', this is an excellent effort. Very well done, and keep up the good work. David
Smooth and TastefulI really liked it! It was really smooth. I generally don't like electronic music but I found this very tasteful and the guitar work was superb. Keep up the good work and best wishes for your future.
nice worksounds good even tho i cant really understand half of anything that your saying i do like the beat and the rythmn so keep up the good work and lets hear some more of what you can do ok keep at it ...
nice songHi. Nice song. Catchy tune. Sorry that I don't speak Portugese, I hope you understand my English. This is a good recording, a very good choice of instruments, in particular the electrical guitar: The soloing is truly marvellous... It's a catchy tune - very lush, smooth - and it really makes me dream away to your exotic country/ your tropical ? region. I live in a cold and rainy European country called Belgium... The chord-scheme of this song is unique and makes me want to listen to this tune again; it's something that can really get stuck into peoples' heads. It's a pity though that the composition ends quite abruptly: If you could have put in a fade-out/ autocue at the end of the tune you can generate an effect by which the song really goes on and on and on forever. But I'm definitely enchanted by your tune and I'm curious for more of your music. Please listen to mine: N1M search: spiceypete Greetings from Pieter B. from Ghent, Belgium
Song with a great feel.Song starts with a good feel with good dynamics and spaciousness and remains in a good place as it carries on even without vocals. Guitars do a great job singing a vocal line in their own right, which makes it very enjoyable as that kind of song. Drums could come up stronger, I feel to support the strong guitar lines but the song ends smoothly leaving a great feeling. Great job.
not badEntardecer com amigos starts in a very nice way with a great hammond organ that makes a great atmosphere but then enters that synth sound that frankly did not seem very suitable for this piece. I tried to listen to the piece again but I do not like that sound and even the musical part does not fit what comes before and after. everything else is perfect but that part does not match absolutely with the rest of the piece. if I can give you advice to perform that part with the organ or violins you use in the piece.
Fantastic arranged light musicThis instrumental based music grabbed me right from the start. Great mixture of contemporary tunes, with pop and rock elements. Versatile keys sounds creating a smooth atmosphere. Brilliant chamber string ensemble accompaining the virtous rock guitar solos what brings an increasing feeling into the music. These studio recording unleashes the imagination with brasilian infused style and great beat from the drums and percussion. Not really easy especially in the fills with harmonically melodies, inspired by electronic infused sounds which are together fantastic arranged and coming at the right time. The instruments masterfully played by a multitalent stand out. This is definitely a very professional and creative composition. I´m sure, you will also enjoy what you hear and like to add it.
Great Groove!Very nice recording and playing. I really enjoy your style and musical ability. I usually only listen to music with lyrics as I am a lyricist but I can hear Carlos coming through as an influence maybe? Keep on playing and recording great music!
