Sal La Rocca’s new album breathes groove and freedom. His modern jazz with captivating sounds is tinged with avant-gardism. - The project explores a certain duality. First, by the presence of Flemish and Walloon musicians; then, by the apparent opposition between avant-gardism and tradition. Jeroen and Lieven open doors to unexpected sounds and colors. Sal and Pascal are more anchored in the tradition, while remaining permeable to other sounds. NEW NEWS: April is here - that means FIESTA in San Antonio! This "party with a purpose" has over 100 official member organizations putting on events over three weekends in April: 3 million people will attend these events and generate 1/3 of a billion dollars during this commemoration of the battles of The Alamo and San Jacinto. This is the heart of Texas. I'm part of the team that puts on The King William Fair - the "Locals Only" Fiesta favorite of San Antonio. I'm "King William" so there's going to be parades, TV, radio, and social-media-a-plenty in the coming weeks. As a musician I've got some great Fiesta gigs lined up for me and my bands! Peterson Entertainment, llc will be providing site management services for Taco Fest on April 13th! VIP tickets are sold out and general admission tickets are 2/3rds sold out. I'll be a panelist at the UTSA Music Biz Day on April 6th and later that evening I'll be getting down with some zydeco at Riley's Tavern for their crawfish boil with Jean-Pierre and the Zydeco Angels from 4 to 6pm. That's a rare reunion show of the best line-up of that band ever. And the Solo Sax Sessions had landed a new residency: The 3rd Friday of the month at Sanchos Cantina from 7 to 9pm. Once in a while it'll be a GrooveTronX jam, but it's mostly going to be some funky sax loops. Last month's recap: March was intense! The King William Fair preparations are in full swing and taking up LOTS of time and there's some GREAT new things coming this year. The Texas LoopFest was a smashing success complete with 3 TV appearances, great press, great venues, and great performances. Videos will be going up in the coming weeks! Peterson Entertainment, llc did the sound for celebrity Chef Johnny Hernendaz's 10th Annual Paella Challenge and we did a fabulous job. Compliments came in for days! What's on deck? Taco Fest and Fiesta. 28 days till it's all over. This is my last weekend of sleep. GrooveTronX: Fiesta is our most recent release. Although we're about to put out a new digital release featuring our performance from the San Antonio Coffee Festival! And we've finished mixing our studio sessions and are sending it off to Austin for mastering. It'll be our first physical CD!
