Mr Dark Mental
Gangsta’ rap just got a whole lot better, thanks to Mr Dark Mental and his masterful adaptations which have seen him grab the limelight in the world of small-time rap and hip-hop… until now.
Born and bred in Chicago, Mr Dark Mental spent entire days of his childhood down at the projects, his old stomping ground as he likes to call it, tagging any vacant wall longing for a touch of his artistic masterpieces. However, it was not long after that he graduated to become yet another artist looking to make a name for himself in the music scene, which has slowly but surely become an iconic symbol of western society over the years.
The artist has come of age ever since he first set foot in what has become a potential career for him; to make a name for himself. The now music prodigy started off by making inroads as a break dancer and graffiti artist. His love for art forms and expressing it through the strokes of colors soon extended to the usage of a combination of tangy yet spicy beats and lyrics he has come to be known for in his immediate and extended circles.
After receiving rave reviews from his compadres for his prowess at doing what he thought he did best, he decided to display his skills for the world to see. It was Sherman Park where he first managed to wow the crowd, a prelude to what he believed was to follow. His most recent performance at City Life Lounge served as a testament to that self-assurance he maintained for all those years where he managed to drive the crowd wild by dropping a melodious sync of dark and upbeat tunes. He has also performed on Channel 19 as the headliner for the Cliff Levingston Riveiera show, performing two nights in a row with his boyhood group named link (Villains in Black).
If you are a fan of all that bass and hard-hitting tunes jumbled up with a live instrument performance here and there, be sure to check him out when he comes to a place near you. Currently working on producing his soon-to-be-released mix tape, he is sure to get you in the mood.
