Christian Rock Review of Mike Harty's Song A Better WayGreat music, arrangement, and vocals! It took a long time to associate any Christian values to the song, however. If that's what I was looking for I would of tuned out by the time you let your audience know that she received the Lord! Great work though! God is good! God Bless your work, Mike! xxs<3:)
Nice eighties sound.Nice sound of the Eighties era is what Mike Harty brings us. Pop/Rock music with some psychedelia and guitars arpeggios, the execution of everything is perfect, it could have been a success in those times, where pop sounds were mixed with progressive fragments and soft rock, Peter Gabriel type. Mike has good ideas to show us. Good Luck!
A Little Guitar RockLove the guitar layering in this song. The biggest issue with the song is that the voices are buryed beneath the tracks. The vocals seem to be in tune and the lyrics work for the song. it would be much better if the lyrics were much more up front. I got a Led Zep feel from some of the sections. Keep up the great guitar playing, Mike. Do a remix and bring up those vocals.
A better way (review to song)listening now music starts fantastic very special music nice singing starts fantastic lyrics go on fantastic so as the band all fantastic about 1/4 of the I have listened now all fantastic as said I almost herd 1/2 the song now and still fantastic all of it as said above almost herd 3/4 of the song now and yes still fantastic go go go friend and band yes all fantastic as said above just almost coming to the end of the song hearing the whole song now yes fantastic all song as said above well done I loved the whole song so I gave it top rating OK
Lots of guitars for sureA lot going on here good vocals drums are okay mix needs work song is good but hard to hear words if this is a Christian message, the words need more prominent attacks .i like the style reminds me of yes especially the bass part, pop rock I can tell the player has played for a while the tune is a little long and I’m not sure what the point of that is,I hate to hear this about my songs I’ve written but it seems like it’s more than one song.but overall a lot better than most of the stuff I hear nowadays.
A Better WayStunning guitar instrumental! Beautifully executed, especially because the voice has such a poignant quality. Great 70's vibe with a sound a bit like ELO. This is a unique song in the Christian Genre, ground-breaking in my opinion. It reminds me of the song by Savage Garden called "Be MY Baby.". "A Better Way"...is a song about longing and yearning to be fulfilled. You have a unique sound and lyrical phrasing with a gift for articulate storytelling.
Do you like good guitar playing?Really liked this song. Has a late 70's feel and tone. The guitar work on the song makes this song worth listening. As a fellow Christian musician who has heard a lot of mediocre players, Mike is not one of them. If he lived in Canada I would audition for his band. Great job. Loved it.
Mike HartyNice intro, love that metal sound in the intro. Wow what a shift in action from clean to distorted.very commercial sounding song different varieties of sounds really spice up this song. I hear a little early rush in there and a hint of supertramp.love the double guitar blends. It’s hard to put my finger on this one because of the different styles going on in here. I really like this song a lot.
EXCELLENT. BEAUTIFUL SONG.The same melody can be interpreted softly, melodiously, joyfully, raw, playful, and in many ways sung or played by an instrument. Think of a metal song, a children's song or a romantic song. Of course, this is not a purely compositional aspect, but we must take it into account as it influences notoriously. Thinking about how the melody should sound, even the timbre of it is a very important aspect. Very good song. My congratulations.
A better wayA better way is a beautiful song, the instruments so live, the melody and the artist voice so perfectly matched together. I really love this genre and I'm definitely keeping this track to ma playlist.
Sounds familiarMike Harty's recording of "A Better Way . . ." is another tour-de-force of vocal and guitar talent from this sophisticated songwriter and his tight, well-rehearsed band. At 6:20, it runs a little long, but it is never boring. It features high, clear, precise guitar duets throughout, reminiscent of an old band from the 70's called Boston. The lead vocal is a clear, well-styled and on-pitch tenor, a little bit drowned out in the mix. The song itself is satisfyingly complex and appropriately on-message, and the band is tight. Nevertheless, it sounds familiar. I know I have reviewed two of this artist's songs before, and this one sounds VERY similar to the last one I reviewed. I'm old, so I tend to forget the details. It's an effort just to remember what I had for lunch yesterday! Always a pleasure to listen to this artist.
refreshingNice introduction right off the bat, Nice melody lines reminiscent musically of something by the cars, Vocals sound nice, I could use the vocals a little more bumped up above the guitars. Nice guitar solos and the doubling .
Back in timeTime machine... these sounds, the guitar the bass, the vocals all have this vintage early eighties vibe, which is a good thing for me. A lot attention to detail is in here, all the parts are clear. I hear each individual thing, each part, each melody. The arrangement is complex enough to match the style. I want to hear more. It feels like some spiritual messaging going on. Also a good thing to me. Would love to see the lyrics printed out. All the best to you Mike Harty.
