REVIEW OF LOVE IS NOT ALL

A free energetic spirit flowing song with beautiful elements of jazz and other hypnotic percussion vibes. The vocals keep it filled with culture and sultry allure. A particularly unique sound that captivates one's curiosity in what more this artist has yet to present. I hope much success comes your way and you stay natural and unique in your journey in music.

Bring the vocal out more!

I love your voice and the ensemble you are using, I would like to hear your voice stand out a little more in the recording. The muted trumpet compliment the song perfectly with just enough percussion. Michael Ross

A light, engaging, and entertaining approach that can engulf one with the musical message that they tastefully communicate. They have a special touch for this jazz style and it is clear that they enjoy what they do. I say keep it coming. I will be waiting for their next number.

Hello, Marie-Paule! The song is very interesting, the piano figures are quite good, the accompaniment of the bass is very nice, the trumpet solo is very sensual, your voice is very beautiful, and your cadence when singing carries very sweet feelings, although in the middle of the song, carries a single voice a little outside the general line of the song, but that makes it more complete. The rhythmic accompaniment of the bongos, although it is good, I feel that it is insufficient for the general context, and could bring more instruments, such as drums, and more percussions. The mastering is simple but good. Congratulations for a good job!

Jazz music is by far the most unique. Jazz music started in America, it's the only thing that naturally started from our soul. At first it was called Jungle music. Nobody liked it because of who was bringing life to these instruments. By the time those people learned how to actually read and write this music that they were naturally playing, it started to spread quickly. Only in America is where the respect towards Jazz took forever just so that everyone can have a slice of the American pie. Once again, this music was once not to be respected. However when something is unique, nobody can deny that. In today's times what we do from jazz is endless. I work with a man by the name of BugleBlack. Bugleblack is a real trumpet player who also plays cords in piano plus keyboard etc. Google BugleBlack. When it comes to JazzHop meaning hiphop and Jazz production, he's the Best on the Westcoast. My name is Splitendz The PROFIT here in Los Angeles Ca and I'm apart of BugleBlack Music Group.

Love is not all review. this is a strictly Jazz piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in Jazz style as I said everything recalls the Jazz genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a Jazz piece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

The voice draws me in immediately. Scarcity in bass part is interesting and adds to the effect of this piece. Percussion was an interesting choice; the absence of a shaker seems deliberate. The electric piano is deft and right on time, moving out of the vocalists way when needed but filling the solo space to overflow with rich harmonies and interesting rhythms. Could not have topped off the solo with anything more moodful than a muted trumpet a la Miles. I want more from this artist. Keep up the good work, the adept phrasing and tone colors of this voice are compelling and will be received well by the larger public. I would also like to see live what the presence is like. In addition to the chill vibes of the arrangement, the next level might be to add some more arranged lines, improvisational, or soli voicing, perhaps as intro or solo material. Having said that, this recording is complete and artistically fulfilling as a listener. All the best to you in your continued musical adventures!

Marie-Paule Franke Love is not all-Review by Robert Meloccaro

What an exquisite voice! I love this style of sublime Jazz with a nice relaxed groove with poignant lyrics that fit the mood of the song. The band is made up of gifted musicians who know how to support a vocalist and understand what it means to serve the song. The haunting melody is delivered with impeccable phrasing that helps emphasize the depth of emotion linked to the message being conveyed. I like the choices the band makes to keep the harmonic structure peppered with interesting subtle variations. The improvised vocals with the modal backdrop is a testament to your fluidity and unabashed confidence that only seasoned jazz artists aspire too. I love the keyboard/ trumpet solo which reminds me of how Miles Davis and Kieth Jarrett would approach that type of interlude. Great use of space so ideas aren't cluttered accentuating both the rhythmical and the melodic motifs . I suspect this band has a history together by the chemistry you seem to share. My only criticism is minuscule in point and just an observation you may want to consider is the recording level of the congas could be taken down a smidgen because the volume level tends to draw attention away from the vocals and suggests a feeling that separates it from the rest of the song. A little reverb and mild compression would tighten the overall cohesiveness in the final mix. Your outstanding music was a pleasure to review. This song and band would be something I would go out of my way to hear in a cafe or intermit setting in your enchanting country I once visited many yrs ago. Keep creating new music you are a gift to all fortunate enough to hear that voice!

Whilst you may be dining in an elegant restaurant, or relaxing with a glass of white wine, "Love is not all" will grab you. Marie - Paule Franke, sultry voice, accompanied by an awesome rhythm section, will capture your mind and make you really listen to what's being said. The in depth lyrics and sway of the backing music puts you in the moment of the song, which in turn will cause you to go into deep thought. I thoroughly enjoyed the song and will be looking for more, great music to come!

Lovely, light latin inspired jazz

Really interesting melodies and changes! Great bell-like vocal with super control! Very interesting arrangement, that doesn't get boring. The middle part is a little weird, but the rest is wonderfull. The percussion could be a little lower in volume in the mix, that would elevate the piece even more. Great horn! Keep it up! :-) from Merus in Copenhagen

There is something that this piece attracts my ears; first of all, the singing. Marrie-Paule has a very flexible voice that produces special effects. Somehow, it reminds me theatrical character, and on the other hands sort of instrumental capability. I am not sure yet whether musically it is convincing, but the ability to do such things is impressive! As of the music, there is a strong feeling of ostinato (mainly the bass) that works good, even when the trumpet (or muted flugelhorn) gets its solo. Ostinato and Interesting sometimes contradict each other. It is hard achieving good results. There needs sort of "compensation" to make ostinato very interesting. In this piece, it works!!. I enjoy it very much. When I need/want to relate to my friends' ostinato pieces, I suggest approaching again Ravel's Bolero and not, e.g. Steve Rich. This Song is something in between. Again. It works!

A parody of romantic love

Helpful

An interesting song is this. A parody of romantic love, maybe. There is no pathetic stuff. The singer phrases a bit frustrated lyrics now and then with talk. It is refreshing to hear her experimenting with her voice. The keyboard, horn, bass and drums are well balanced and fitting for the song. This is freely performed contemporary song poetry. It can open new fresh scenes for jazz.
