These songs are part of The Pantry of Salt & Sugar are an ongoing work in progress; they are imperfect, not mixed or mastered. Each song is improvised on the spot in response to the world, inner or outer. However, I have an opportunity to work with a Producer out of LA to make that album. I'll keep you posted on that progress, for now enjoy 5 new trax for the New Year.

About Madame Dolores, The Beautiful Ugly, Christiane D
I am raw electric nerves. An artist. I hear music in paintings, see color in sound. I am a synesthete.
The world (political, cultural, natural, sensual…) is my muse and the muse dictates the medium, the discipline: text, theater, visual, performance, music. An unapologetic deep compassionate empathy is at the root of the things I bring forth. The work I make is trying to answer a question I can barely hear. The sharing of the work is an invitation to the process, not the end product.
After 40 years of creating, performing, and exhibiting, I intentionally decided to abandon the linear progression of art making and return to the initial space where it all began, PLAY. The joyful solitary space where you had no thoughts of being watched, selling yourself or your creation as a product. The space where you abandon yourself, your full “beautiful ugly” self.
Following the election, I picked up my new iPhone and began making micro-songs, which I call The Pantry of Salt & Sugar. All music and lyrics are unplanned, improvised responses to the outer and inner world. The Pantry of Salt & Sugar are an un-mastered and unmixed celebration of accidental discoveries, glorious imperfections and stream of consciousness haikus. These micro-songs are an emotional bloodletting and volcanic paradigm shift for survival. Each micro-song in the Pantry of Salt & Sugar is a ritualistic dedication to the enigma of creation.
