My new album is called "The Impossible." Believe it, this project very nearly WAS impossible, my goodness.
I experienced the death of a close friend earlier this year that posed some production delays. In the late summer, I began to experience some unusual vocal strain and had to limit singing (fortunately, most of the vocals were done by then), and then there were schedule conflicts getting the musicians all together at the same time in the same room.
BUT, glory to God! We finished what we started. People prayed for me to not only be strong enough vocally to complete the project, but I even stayed strong enough to sing with the full band at a CD Release Concert in Lititz, Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 4, 2016. It was great to hear the songs fully produced on the CD and then fully realized live with an energetic audience to support us.
If you like piano-driven Christian pop music, I'm your girl. I grew up listening to Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins, and Sara Groves, and they are huge musical influences on me. You'll hear that in the song styles and lyrics. It's all original stuff, though; all music and lyrics are from my heart and my head. I was surrounded by fantastic musicians, and supported by Ken Matson, my new manager and the producer of the album. He started a little label called House Rat Records, and I'm the first signed artist with him. I love working with him and his family (his sons are his crew and his wife runs the business with him), and we plan to move into 2017 hitting the ground running on a new project. The next one won't take this long, I promise!
Enjoy the new music. Please like it, share it, download or buy a hard copy of it. Visit me on Facebook at (expired link), on Twitter @leahjmusic, on Instagram @leahjsongs, or online at (expired link). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for your support all year while we labored to complete this project. I really hope you love the finished product as much as we all loved making it for you.

Hey, friends,
I mentioned in my last blast that I'm returning to the studio. We were supposed to start last week, but Winter Storm Jonas had other plans, haha. Since enough snow has melted that the musicians have a place to park and unload their gear, we are beginning production this coming Wednesday, February 3, at House Rat Records in Hanover, PA.
If you haven't already done this, take a few minutes to pop by the newly updated LeahJ website, (expired link), to see what's new. My producer Ken is offering up a limited-time offer for pre-orders for the album that will include things like a signed copy of the new CD, VIP tickets to the live/online CD release party (date TBA), a making-of featurette, and the complete catalog of every song (including demos!) that I have ever recorded up to this point.
Pray for the musicians and crew who will be putting this project together, particularly that we all stay healthy through the process, knowing that this time of year in Pennsylvania lots of colds and flus get passed around. Forward this message to any friends you have who enjoy contemporary Christian pop music. Connect with me on Facebook (leahjmusic1) or on Twitter (LeahJMusic) or Instagram (LeahJSongs). Then just enjoy the music!
As a teaser, I'm including the demo version of one of the songs we'll be covering on the new CD. It's called "Deeper" and was recorded in Lima, OH at Studio K-13 with Alan Patterson. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I'm excited to announce that my friend Ken Matson of Sound Works Studio in Hanover, PA is launching a new indie record label called House Rat Records, and I'm officially the first indie signee. We are meeting in December to sample songs and map out a plan of action for recording, and then I'll be in the studio in January working on a new full-length, fully produced, full-band album.
Some of the songs will come from "A New Song," my latest demo-style piano/vocal release. There will be some new stuff thrown in as well, which I'm super amped about.
All of your prayers would be appreciated. May God be glorified through the whole process, from start to finish. Pray that my voice stays strong, as I work part-time as a church musician and I sing a lot already. I need a supernatural dose of endurance.
Grace, Mercy, and Peace,

I am home! Just finished a busy, fabulous, energizing travel season of music, speaking, teaching and preaching.
Since my last update, I've been to Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and all over my home state of Pennsylvania, visiting churches, retreats and conferences. I got to facilitate spiritual renewal and anointing services, perform concerts, preach revival sermons, and lead a church's family camp at a secluded retreat center in central PA. ALL GOOD!!! I love what I do so much. God is generous to call and equip me (and you!) to serve Him.
At home, I lead worship at Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren on Hummel Street. If you're ever near the state capital on a weekend, come worship with us at 9am (traditional) or 11:15am (upbeat praise).
Some of you have let me know you're looking online for music. I have 3 projects on Amazon or iTunes right now. J-Scott "Dedication" (2003), Scott Ailes "Made for More" (2004), and Leah J "A New Song" (2015). All songs written or co-written by me, and I produced them and played and sang.
I'm glad to be home for Advent and Christmas. January I'll spend a week in Florida (14-19). If your Florida-based church or ministry would like to host a concert, contact me at leahjmusic1@(expired link) to make arrangements while I'm down.

Hey, everyone. I'm headed from Pennsylvania to Florida to sing and preach this weekend. Prayers appreciated! Thanks so much for all of the support you give to my music ministry.
Saturday is Off The Grid public park worship service and host conference in Sarasota. Sunday I'm spending my birthday with my parents in hot, muggy Miami and bringing the Word to Miami First Church of the Brethren. Can't wait!
