My hippie heart goes pit-a-pat

I love this sound, I openly admit. Thumpy driving beat, solid blues harp and guitar licks and great vocals. This song has a fresh breeze and a liberating feeling like driving a 1967 Chevy convertible across the mid west, listening to local FM radio stations along the way playing 'Self Esteem' along with songs by Little Feat, Neil Young and The Band. Great job guys - you and your music make me happy and bring back the faith in good solid hand-made American rock! Well done!

I truly enjoyed this track, as it is reminiscent of songs sadly Alot of bands tend to disregard in picking or adhering to a style in today's music....I love the feel good flavor along with the harmonica chorus you have added in..It gives a sense of that Cajun blues music we don't hear to much if anymore, but surely gets us feeling a beat or two once it's played!!...So does this!!...keep up the great tunes!!!....great hearing this today my friend!

review of 'Self Esteem'

This track has a really good driving beat and a great vocal, the voice is awesome but it's spoilt by a bad mix and excessive use of saxophone in my opinion. I can't hear that great voice over the top of the sax doubling up on the melody line. I'd reduce the amount of that of that and the harmonica. The guitar solo is nice too but again drowned by the sax. It's a real shame as there are some good musical performances in there and the song has promise. The voice, as I said is very good and the song is strong...please remix and let me hear it again...?

This production beholds a very entertaining hookline with brass, a good voice, drums, and a very good mood... I guess no good party will get to its peak without this extreme hot song! Well played and written to get number one at every challenging party, this song should enter a very good career. Sometimes it reminds of Mardi Grass of New Orleans, may depend on the Brass and sax lines...

Good songwriting but...

This song, Self Esteem, was a nice surprise to come across. The musicianship and songwriting are superb. The vocals and harmonies and arrangement are right up my alley. I love the song and I can tell that the musicians behind it are top notch and well honed. These guys have been doing this for a while. My only problem or critique is that this was not a top notch recording. Sounds like a rehearsal track recorded at the warehouse. Now, that being said, it is a very good rehearsal track and demo to take into the studio. It maps out the direction of the song and the main idea for the engineer to target. If that was the intention, then by all means, the song passes the test, go and record it professionally because it sounds great! If that was not the intention though and this is a professional release then I suggest, fire your engineer and producer, spend a bit more cash, and re-record this song and give it the treatment it deserves because it is worth doing so. The song is good. Make it sound awesome in the studio. There are elements of southern rock but I would not pigeon hole the song into this one category. It definitely has that old school 70s feel to it. A bit Springsteen, a bit Bob Seger. I would love to hear this song at full potential done right in the studio. This is not a bad review, I love this song. I want you to make it a better recording. My props on your writing, arrangement, and performance.

Self Esteem

Self Esteem by Sivaunt, has some good sing along parts and interesting breaks. Sounds to me like a life recording which brings the benefit of energy and rawness while sacrificing a perfect mix and performance. Having said this, I can imagine the band very well in a concert, making the audience moving their feet. From an arrangement point of view I would consider the sax be applied more pointed in the beginning and full on only with the chorus part at the end. Keep rocking guys

Billy Joel, maybe?

I was taken back at first. I didn't know it was going to be a classic style of Rock. The harmonica really excited me, coupled with the Sax, it reminds me of an 80's-Billy-Joel-ish track. I love that kind of music because of the authenticity in the instrumentation. The quality isn't refined, but I could definitely listen to this again.
