Revival of the Late '60's Classic Prog-rock

I had just viewed the 1969 Beat Club compilation called "frontiers of Progressive rock" where groups like The Nice, soft Machine , and King Crimson were introduced to the world. Their music I found excellent as they kept only the basic rules of music, playing in key, and to the same beat. when listening to Hed Shop, I was taken to the same place. they were overplaying what seemed to be the standard rock instruments with some cool vocals going over the proceedings. perhaps the recording was a bit lo-fi to appreciate all the nuances Hed Shoppe put into ;Intelligent Fungus but anyone who enjkoys early prog as I do will enjoy this for sure

Hitrecord material!

This needs to be on that site! I can hear someone being able to use this in some sort of screen play or animation. It has a very eerie feel but it works for it. Maybe its the reverb on the vox or the creepy guitar hiding in the mix. Either way it is a solid tune. Fungus Intelligent indeed.

Specialized stuff

This is really for the daring and outside-the-box listener who can get into techo electronic dance music and rock. Rob Zombie fans are the kind of people that come to mind as a great potential audience in my opinion (which is just that--only an opinion). The sounds are manufactured and the recording sounds like it's heavily processed, which I think is basically a prerequisite for this genre. I'm not saying that this is bad, just very stylized strictly for those who are absorbed in this kind of music, not the mainstream listeners who like conventional commercial music from most major labels or high profile radio stations. Good luck on all your endeavors!

Not My Cup Of Tea

Sorry guys this isn't really my cup of tea , i found the mix to be washed out with noise and i just don't understand the recording , i'm sure there are people in the world that listen to this style but i'm sorry i'm not one of them . This sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom with processors and i don't want to offend anyone by giving an honest review .

Not Bad

With a little remixing, bringing the vocals to the front would actually move the entire piece in a new direction, which is a great positive with minimal effort. I enjoyed the opportunity to zone and listen a few times in a row to get a true feel. Keep up the good work. Haunting, Industrial is a great genre that will never die!

Experimental Electronica

Very interesting experimental electronica. Lots of gothic under tones with the vocals. Reminds me of early joy division fused with chilled beats and heavy analogue synth and guitar sounds. Good to hear United States producers that are influenced by the 90's uk electronic and gothic sub genres. I can imagine there going to be a lot of fused styles from hed shoppe. Looking forward to hearing more guitar and experimentation. Continue this musical journey!

to-HED SHOPPE

I want to know what this is because is more than to feel only this different sensation when get up,from bed out of nowhere THATS AWSOME.because it feels like you just finished the whole song without knowing how you felt.the lyrics and the rest needs to be heard a little more only to tell you that I heard it and saw the difference and I taught that maybe like I said getting up from that far distant desire of wishing how GEt up from bed and the experimental comes and cleans your verse, stands out to be real and cool.

Hard to understand

The song is weird and has a dark vibe, but the lyrics are hard to understand, try again mate perhaps louder vocals and a cleaner rhyme scheme in the lyrics.

Channeling Buckethead

For some reason all I could think while listening to this was BUCKETHEAD. Not sure if it was on purpose or not, but this song slams. Good 'n weird & shit.

2 out of 5

Overall, the creativity is there. I guess because I am not a listener of this genre, the song did not move me. MW wishes you the most success in all your professional and music career endeavors. Peace and Blessings.

lacks a natural touch

this track relies too much on its loops which are merely a foundation... it needs some organic tracks on top of this to really get the idea across.. without that it is too obviously software bound and is prevented from being truly transcendent by this distractive nature.

Abrasively Epic!

This track is full of deep and guttural beats that lay the base for the guitar and the drums that I had a feeling would follow. And the lyrics add that final ingredient that make the track a truly EPIC listen! Everything worked in synergy to keep the listener's attention on the song. Keep it up bro!

Not my cup of tea, but...

Hello, to tell you the truth, this kind of music is not my cup of tea, but i also experimented this kind of dark music from beyond the grave in my youth when I was a rock guitarist and I must admit that I had some fun doing it. The lag effect of the rhythm evokes the dark side and brings a satanic atmosphere or dementia. Sincerely Sal
