Read moreThanks to everyone who listened to my cover songs. I am just completing my debut album "Vanished in the Blue" with eleven original songs. I had the help of many fantastic local musicians. Including Bruce Turgon,former Foreigner bass player, at his studio,After Hours Recorders here in Redding Ca. He has done a great job of leading me through the recording process. And also played bass and several other instruments on the album. I was also fortunate enough to have on fiddle/violin Scott Joss who toured with Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoacum for 30 years. He lives locally and I have been lucky enough to play several gigs with him. About Harmonica Steve
Originally from Berkeley CA, and now living in Shasta County, singer/ songwriter, Steve Cheek known as Harmonica Steve, grew up in a musical family. His early musical influences include the big band sound of the 1940s the Beatles and the San Francisco rock sound of the late 60s and country music. He played bass and guitar in local bands through his high school years. His harmonica style took shape after hearing harmonica player Lee Oskar in the mid 70s.
After a long hiatus of 45 years he re- entered the music world in 2015 collaborating with singer/songwriter Samijo and played over a hundred gigs throughout Shasta county. He now plays harmonica and does vocals with several local musicians including Mary Ann Coty. Steve is currently working on his debut album with Bruce Turgon at After Hours Recorders in Redding CA. The album, which includes eleven original songs, three written with songwriting partner Brittany Butcher, is infused with a variety of genres like folk, country and early rock is set to release in Mid to Late 2017.
