Duceman / Songs / "ATTRACTION" - Chris Meijer (Feat: DUCEMAN) Demo Version

The Duceman Does it again!

I always seem to be coming back to the Duceman to review his songs.I can't help it. His music is that good! With his song 'Attraction' he does it again. Sweet Soul and funky groove mixed with sterling vocals. Reminds me of Earth Wind And Fire. Do your self a favor and listen to this song! Keep doing, what you do Duceman.

Cool track

This is a cool groove. I really like the vocal harmonies. It puts me in mind of early Gino Vannelli. Nice funky bass and drums with an interesting retro feel. Lots of energy and a good tune to dance to as well.

Attraction Review

Nice Band Live Sound. The song is very inviting and dance worthy. A nice job on the vocals and harmony. I truly enjoyed it, it is quite reminiscent of a great band performance, days we don't see much of anymore with high quality real music. Love the guitar and the break down sweetness to close. Excellent job, keep up the great work. Much Blessings in all your endeavors.

TAKES ME BACK

Loving the vibe! Took me back to that smooth R&B sound from the 80's. I love the smooth intro and the bass is strong and grooving. Great lyrics! The guitar solo could be a bit louder, but it was amazing! Keep up the amazing work!

ATTRACTION

Your music takes me back to the days of Speak Easy's In NYC where you can listen to some of the best Jazz and Funk bands. Your music speaks to the soul and you hit the mark with "Attraction". Continued success is wish for your career and keep writing and performing that Funky music. Marilyn

Wow !!

I love this track !! I'm thinking I must share some of the same influences as Duceman.I always think the music we write is the music we listen to coming through us .This track is produced so well you could say it's a Roy ayers track and not many people would differenciate. This track has a true groove to it ,real bass lines underneath some really nice chords and vocal harmonies, topped off with some really cool brass and a great structure !! A great piece Duceman !! Good R&B

From a Producers POV: I would cut the intro and go straight into the primary tempo; Ending in the same slow tempo takes away from the great energy of the main body of the tune. I would use actual multi-tracking on the vocals instead of using a vocal processor. Actual multi-tracking would be much more impactful - less synthetic sounding. The processor adds a coloration that does not sound natural, which has a negative influence on the tune. I might be wrong, but the drums also sound like a MIDI kit. Getting something like Superior Drummer or EZDrummer would allow the MIDI output to feed into a more dynamic drum sound... more believable. Otherwise, overall this is well written/composed, executed competently, and engineered/recorded well though there is more processing applied to the vocals and guitar than I would prefer.

Hi

This is a nice Song but some work has to be done on It..Vocal ( a little off The Tune ) and Arrangement ( to plain ) also is always good idea to use a Real Instruments on Recording ..I think Music Publishers and Radio will agree with me so if I be You I will make The Song better and after all is done will try to send them..if possible try to make a new recording under 3.5 min long and cut the intro...I wish You good luck with submissions.. good Job...

very sexy !!

Hello Duceman! As always enjoying your excellent work, both melodic and harmonically full of wealth. The excellent voices, and in perfect synchronicity the leading voice with the choirs. The instrumentation and execution of each element of the group is great, I love the sound of the synthesizers, and also the mixing, mastering and final production is great. Congratulations for this great job.

Funky Jazzy and Old School R & B - It's worthy of a live performance!!

What can I say about the Duceman and this song "Attraction?" As a musician, I have nothing but good things to say about the production, the arrangement, the hook...the overall song is great. It reminded of something that Earth Wind & Fire cover band might perform at any spot on the strip in Las Vegas. Ya never know what you're gonna hear these days but I kept an open mind and ears on this one. If Duceman was asking for my advice on how to really make this song pop is that I would harmonize the hooks as it was done but I wouldn't layer the voices throughout the entire song. This being the reason: It doesn't give the listener any surprises. Layers voices is cool, especially if you CAN DO it. Duceman pulls it off but it's no suprise as it's done throughout the entire song. There are no surprises---so the song becomes monotonous and repeative really quick. As I mentioned earlier, I could hear this being performed live and the audience would eat it up. It's fun...it's funky and it's got just enough jazz to keep you grooving. Great work Duceman!

I Like that retro - Super C@@L Vibe !!!

I Really Like that retro - Super C@@L Vibe !!! Nice production work, the use of pans are always useful in "broadening the spectrum" on sonic colors. Many reflective accumulative Artists that led to this point of writing. Very nice vocals Duce ! Chord choices and dynamic movements throughout are appropriate and well thought out. I, however, did want more from the ending/out section... But it worked as you wanted it. Always a pleasure listening to your wok. NICE JOB Duce !!! :-)
