Song Reviews

New Wave Rave

Open the Door is great from the start.I would describe it as a futuristic Joy Division with a touch of The Doors. The electronical elements create a memorable atmosphere.Excellent singer (wish I had that distinguished new wavy voice!)The production is very good too.Comes out of my speakers as clear as a bell, from the instrumentation to the lyrics.

Perception. Point Of View.

This song's chorus hinges on the word,"perception". My perception hears early 80's dance,European influenced, with somewhat subtle funk sensibilities. The tempo is kind of "iffy" at times.Over-all,though,a fairly catchy tune.

Great Recording

You did a phenomenal, fantastic, extravagant job on this piece of music. Your song is a piece of art and I am confident that if you continue this type of work with the right amount of passion then you will go far in this business. If you don't mind my saying, I think you should reach out to some graphic designers, photographers, producers, editors, collaborators, labels and anything and everything else that has to do with the business because you have the talent to go far. You just need to get in touch with the right people.

Intersting..

Very interesting to say the least! I can tell you guys are doing art, although its not my style I enjoy the originality and the sick bass line. I enjoyed it. Lyrics matched the song very well, and the keyboard sounds awesome!! Keep this up, its different. Its awesome.

New wave mover

A voice sounding like a better and cleaner Marylin Manson. This track has an awesome rolling vibe, its Rock pop but also has a somewhat retro game sound assisted by key parts sort of acting as a counter melody to the lead vocal.

Refreshing dark

Usually I am very busy to make a review but this morning I did get your request and your art caught my attention. I like the atmosphere and style of your tracks, the lead voice is effective and has a lot of potential (I will search a special style not that close to other famous bands of the 80's - 90's) The influence is there and I really like it. I will love a catchy lead to hook up the Hypnotic concept, trying some Am Dorian? That will make your song memorable. The recording is very good but I will like more movement and production to avoid the drone effect (constant repetition of a passage). I like the concept and the whole idea, please keep up with your gift.

doors of conception

I like the name of this band,Dreamlife,. its a cool concept for the song, open the doors of ect...a nice nod to the JIM Morrison gang. The vocals totally remind me of the singer in Wall of Vodoo,..ala Mexican Radio style and all the elements fit together nicley ..the synth is cool and the acoustic guitar is also tastefully done..a decent recording as well ..i will give them 4 stars because there's always room for improvement..and i would like to hear more.....minus one

Open your ear for musical perception

I love the intro underlaid with a Jew's harp in this track. The arrangement characterizes unconventional effects of syntheziser generated sounds in the backround. The song is not overly complex, but the beat of the drums and steady bass-line giving a futurisitic atmosphere. The brilliant accentuated keyboard sounds really beautiful and creates a great space in the backround. The singer has a distinctive vocal projection and the lyrics of the song implementing an important vision of life unleashing the soul and brings a hypnotically feel into the music. I like the imaginatively style of the track and the music is definitely professional instrumentationed. Mixing and mastering is brilliant in appropriation of versatile electronical sounds. Different melodies from the keyboard and also well orchestrated electro-guitar-sound carries the recording in the bridge. This is definitely a extraordinary song from really talented musician. Overall a creative composition and very impressive arragement. It´s a unique quintessence of contemporary alternative rock and indie pop. I´m sure, you will like to add it. Let others know your recommendation.

Crystal clear sound

Take Joy Division, add a little Talking Heads and finish off with a crystal clear sound that brings "Open The Doors" into 2018. The song is full of great ideas and the bass vocal is really strong, but it's the lyrics that need attention - the theme gets a little lost. Good listening, all the same!

driving until sunset

You are driving in a long road. It seems like driving to get lost in a unknown world. Driving in the labirinths of mind to explore corners of the past meeting or losing people. the horizon seems often so far. Life is a yourney to travel until the lost breath. I like your song!

yes

Open the Doors review. this song is a strictly alternative piece in the highest sense of the word. everything sounds in alternative style as I said everything recalls the alternative genre. personally it is not my favorite genre but I can give you a musical judgment that is certainly positive because all that there must be in a alternativepiece in your piece is therefore complimented and continues. good job

A retro mash up

There's something very refreshing about Dreamlife's song 'Open the Doors'; it's got all sorts of sounds to it, where you think, "ah yes, that reminds me of...". The Doors or Velvet Underground are, perhaps, the most obvious choices. It gets straight down to business with a straight up beat, that carries the song throughout, with a text about driving constantly along the highway, standing as a metaphor for our journey through life. The beat adds to the thought of a running engine. I particularly love all the different instruments in the tune, especially the start with a guitar and Jews harp. Marvellous stuff!
