Rock’n’Roll spoken here! May Day May Day! Spring is in full bloom with summer showing it’s near. Also, the Mercury Retrograde is finally over! This would all be good news if you didn’t have to watch the carnival that is US Politics. Nevertheless, take a few deep breaths and keep moving forward, it’s the only way to go! NEW NEWS…There was some bad news last week when we heard our good friend and drummer Tommy Mastro passed away passed away last week in Sweden on May 8, 2017. Tommy and his wife Yasminne moved to Sweden last year where she has family. As most of you know, Tommy had been battling ALS for close to 6 years. The only good part of this is that our friend is finally at peace, no longer having to suffer. Rest In Peace Tommy. The latest DownTown Blog post is about Tommy. I wanted to remember our personal relationship as well as thank him for his many contributions to the recordings. I knew how much he appreciated me talking about his skills as a drummer and one of the most gratifying things for me, was releasing the Rock’n’Roll Romantic cd last year and having Tommy see his name in the credits between 2 great drummers, Max Weinberg and Steve Holley. :-) DOWNTOWN BLOG…The new blog post had been in the planning as part of the Rock’n’Roll Romantic cd release when we heard the sad news of Tommy’s passing. The DownTown Nashville EP debuted on March 21, 2016 and the Rock’n’Roll Romantic cd has been there for the last eight months, making it 62 consecutive weeks! SYNC…Our good bud Eddie Caldwell has hooked up one of our songs “Fly Like The Wind”, in a new movie called MONUMENTAL that’s scheduled to be released in 2017.
