I hope you had a chance to look up to the heavens, and remember who needs the love , grace, and kindness you hold. Everyday we see the edges of the world and people in this space fraying apart and evil creeps into the soul. Our minds are a battlefield and the spirits of this world , in flesh and blood, in the air , pervades our mind with everything that is not part of the Most high. Love, grace, kindness, mercy. From my anger that rises at time in difficult traffic, drivers, or reading hateful posts on social media , or even writing out my own anger and hate of the increasingly barrage of negative angst or exploitation in the world. No-one is immuned to the triggering effect of emotions, words, images and sounds. We only have to look at the rising hate that is quickly rising in North America and other parts of the Globe. Hollywood is painting a darker world, alternative reality of super heroes, marvel wonders, and now turning that super power universe into a twist of horror defined, in your face destruction of the body, in your face, the wickedness of ones tongue rises. Who am I too judge, the board in my own eye. If I offend anyone with my music or words, I am sorry. Writing Dangerous Times is a result of theses changing times. IT IS NOT A RALLY SONG TO GO OUT AND HURT OTHERS OR GO AGAINST GOD's WILL!!! Sadly though there are forms that propagate that type of initiating . The song resulted in getting lost in the hard drive storage areas of my digital archives fall and 2011 onward. . I worked on filmmaker Barry J. Gillis's film The Killing Games as a Metis Preacher. My first horror film, it was a great experience with a talented Director and vibrant cast and crew. Many new actors, doing the best experiencing the great values that come form filmmaking and a creative team, and caring Director. I never did show him the song, it totally slipped my mind, but then my mind is a cobweb of memories, ideas, temptations and desires. A place where I rationalize my sins, ha ha, and pray I stay on the good narrow road. It was difficult when my licence expired on my birthday in July lol two weeks driving with out my licence, finally added up to one car pulling me over , and I getting a ticket lo. An expensive metaphor ha ha. God has it all worked out because I deserved that ticket that day, and well today, he is merciful because I am still hanging around planet earth. A number of measures of that song Dangerous Times was perfect opening music for my film and for now it stays in the soundtrack. lol I am learning everyday. As the Creator allows me another day of grace, I remember daily my Ex wife from Greenland Laila Hansen's quote, "Live life to the fullest, but walk gently on this earth.". I met her through my former acting agent Diedre Sam of Prime Talent, Vancouver. who is now retired. That fateful day June 1996, Diedre gives me a call, saying this lady from Greenland is looking for a producer. . I reflect for a moment and agree to meet her. Diedre arranges the meeting and early July I met her and she discusses her project with me. I had the company Manitou Creations Inc at the time and agreed to be a producer for her and did all the necessary paper work and video production and post work to submit her project to Telefilm, Canada. We both agreed to keep it strictly business, it was an amazing time, beautiful summer, and we shot her script, an interesting story about a cross dresser breaking into a house , to awe and fawn over a computer interacting moment . (Laila was very creative). We shot and did post-production on one fateful weekend , where unexpectedly we fall in love and agreed to get married. Five weeks later we got married August 7th and stayed married three years. Both performers and filmmakers, our work took us away, and 1999, during the Metis Sauvage European Tour (On Isumatv site) we met in Copenhagen, I signed the Denmark divorce papers and we partied for a few days after that. I have one recording of her singing backup on my youtube channel, an real early version of Monsieur Cote. ( A tribute to Native women of July 11th, 19990 Oka Crisis ) My songs I have at least a thousand of recordings on cassette, reel to reel, and vhs tape. Song writing songs from 1980 to 1997, written from a spur of a moment start, to my many journal entries, to specific written lyrics and chords to jam sessions with my old band Indians & Dogs with late Jimy Sidlar. SO I thought it would be interesting to upload the short set I found. The set is another recording that got lost in the archives. The capturing device missed some frames and I am sorry for the glitches. Yet the songs have interesting qualities. A soothing quality in one song, and fun, experimental licks and sounds in other measures. As well with Mad Dogs On The Run, another part of my song writing period here in Edmonton. IN closing, I am sorry for the long winded narrative. Shoulder and neck pain still persists and I am going for some tests tomorrow. I will strive to be a better man each day, prepare myself daily with the strength of the Great Creator in his power to keep my mind strong and clear, thoughtful and helpful. All of you help me in being a better person. Knowing that you are all kind and gracious enough to listen to my music keeps my spirit alive and humble, knowing the Creator has brought us together for a reason. I use that reason for myself each day to prevent me from wandering away from the creator to here and there, and the one who walks to and from on this planet earth.
