Scotland was superb. We rolled around it’s granite and grunch and tried to make friends with Big Dave, the alpha king stag – maybe we would’ve been successful of we’d stayed longer. But eventually the shillings ran out of the meter and we had to head back to normality. It was somewhere down the M6 that we first noticed we were naked...

'Wake up my Mind' is the title of a show Dave Scott-Morgan is doing on April 15, at the Midlands Art Centre, Birmingham, together with local legend Steve Gibbons. It's also the title of The Ugly's hit song of yesteryear and Dave and Steve were both in that group together. This reunion marks a first for them and also the show coincides with ELO coming to town on their monster UK tour, which takes in Birmingham on April 16 & 17, so a lot of fans will have the opportunity of catching both. Hurry though, tickets are going fast - (on line at (expired link)).

I wanted to thank you for subscribing to my list. I wanted to let everyone know that I have a concert coming up in September, my first for many years. However I am doing a full rehearsal in August which I am thinking of putting on periscope. Has anyone else got this app or used it for such a thing. Message me with your comments.

Hello there! Thought I'd let you see how we prepare for a show! A day of rehearsing songs from Across the Divide, Rock and Roll and some Electric Light Orchestra hit songs and this is how it affects us...
Note that Mandy appears to have escaped the hullabaloo...probably putting the kettle on for a nice cuppa to clam the chaps.

TANYA.
The song opens with a Russian proverb: 'Tanya, we are a dark people' and the video is dedicated to the memory of all those murdered in recent times (seven are commemorated in the video). To me, 'Tanya' has become a metaphor for the Russian people, who always seem to draw the short straw from history - what with the Czars, communism, and now, a form of gangster capitalism.
The song was originally written about a girl with the code name ‘Tanya’ - real name Tamara Bunke – she was a revolutionary who became Che Gueverra’s girl friend and like him, died in the Bolivian jungle. "Will my name one day be forgotten and nothing of me remain on the Earth?" she wrote in a poem.
