I don’t know about you but I need to try and keep that kid like attitude. These past few weeks I’ve been preparing for some private parties that are coming up. I’ve been working the Christmas set. Please let me know if you are hosting a party and need some entertainment. I have also been keeping up my Charlie Parker studies. ------------------------------------------------------------ Christmas Concert December 15, 2019 ------------------------------------------------------------ Northland Cathedral is having its Christmas concert on Sunday 12/15/2019 at 3:00pm and 6:00pm. Stay tuned, it’s coming… ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you accepted your invitation to the Great Feast? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the holidays approach like Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s a time I look forward to. It’s a chance to gather with friends, family and enjoy not only their company but also a great feast. As Thanksgiving approaches, many local churches and even our Boy Scout troop has Thanksgiving feasts open to the public. Our Boy Scout troop just had a campout which included a great Thanksgiving feasts prepared not only by the adults but the boys as well. To me, this is one of the best. It’s always great to enjoy food around friends and family. Most of you accept the invitations and will go to many of the feasts to enjoy. What about the great Feast? Have you accepted the invite yet? The one I am talking about is recorded in Luke 14 as the parable of the great banquet: Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ 18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ 19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ 21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ 22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ 23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’” Jesus prepares this great feast and I guarantee it will be better than any feast you ever had. He even sent out special invites. I don’t know about you but for me, it’s kind of special when someone personally invites you into their home to share a great feast. But it’s sad that the ones who were invited came up with lame excuses for not coming. One said he had to go see a field he had purchased. (Didn’t he see it before he bought it?), another said he wants to try out his new oxen and another said he got married (why not bring his bride with?). One thing that is at the heart of Jesus is fellowship with people and him seeing people having fellowship with each other. He wants to connect with you and me. He didn’t want any empty seats at the table, so he sent out the servants to the poor, the lame, and the cripple anyone and everyone. It’s sad that those who were invited that made up lame excuses for not coming, will not even get a taste of the great feast. When Jesus prepares a feast and invites you, it’s his willingness to provide for your needs and also to bring restoration into your life. So not being there, That’s MISSING OUT!! Big time. As you approach the Holidays and are enjoying the great feast that grandma is preparing, think about the invite to the Great Feast that Jesus is preparing for you. Don’t hesitate. RSVP ASAP!! Be Blessed. Thanks for your support and please take care and keep the emails coming. Also remember to pray for leaders and our schools.
