Beautiful

This song tittled, The End, is beautifully written. It has a flow that gives the illusion it is dragging, but after the second bar it seems to work out. I think this artist is creative with his words and a talented contemporary singer for the Christian Pop community. I would have liked a little bit more voice in a couple of sections, but I understand the storyline. I would like to hear more music from Cody with a faster tempo. Thank you for the review opportunity. I will be looking forward to more music in the future.

Piano Ballad

Everything is better in Texas, great lyrics and great tone. The harmonies are killer and create the perfect feel. Whoever engineered this really know what they are doing on the reverb too, not too much. Great song Cody!

The End

Let me tell you I been in the music business for over 40 years and I can say your vocal is outstanding! It's a simple song with great lyrics with a great message! I would of gave your 5 stars but you needed a little more punch to the bridge. But again great job!

Good Effort

Upon hearing this piece, I approached it listening with an open mind but prepared to be true to my taste. Upon first connecting with the sound of the music, there was most definitely a positive impact that was made and with every segment of the piece I was drawn into the musics atmosphere more and more. With the exception of how the vocals were blended together, there were a few sharp notes in the harmony parts. But in spite of the sharp notes it wasn't enough to make me stop listening. So even with that one snag, I can honestly say, that there was at no point in listening where I wanted to turn it off.

Review of the song

A beautiful song with great backing music from the piano as you tell a beautiful story of hope and purpose even in difficult times of struggle. Knowing God is always there to help you to go through the struggles of life and that you will come through and be a stronger person for it brings hope and purpose meaning and destiny for your life. With God all things are possible and as the song says “it’s not the end”. Really enjoyed the words and music of this song and pray that God will bless you with many more beautiful songs. God bless

The End

This review won't be your favorite to read but it's my goal to be helpful and encouraging. First, I only review things where I see promise and of course every review is just an opinion. There is a lot here that is great. Great voice. Great hook. Heartfelt content. Good recording. Now let's talk about the songwriting. First, the beginning of the song is great, shows the problem in front of us you're going to address and the hook as mentioned is really good... up until the time you get to the words The End, the first time. Then the song stops developing. It never goes to a chorus, no bridge, just a repeated hook for over 4 minutes> I can't stay interested. The lyrics are a bit forced but the voice compensates and the pace is slow enough that it kind of works but they are not moving on in any great hurry either. Aside from what turns out to be a rather generic promise, briefly, that God can help, we're left with a focus on the pain. This song could be fabulous but it isn't yet. You should be encouraged that you have a good start but it should not be released like this unless you just want to get it out in order to move on. I think it's worth reworking.

haunting

You must have been experiencing some seriously depressing times when you wrote this song. The harmonies are stunning and bang on. The simplicity of the accompaniment is perfect for the message. Fantastic delivery. Well done.

A verbal drama

This song remind me of music played during the American Idol previews with Ryan Seacrest. This song is very dramatic and I like it. I generally wouldn't listen to this type of song unless it was on a movie soundtrack of some type. The production was on point and the melody sets the mood necessary to pull this off. The vocals kind of caught me off guard during the entrance of the verse but quickly fit into the mist of things concerning the whole of the track. The harmony is good, it really made the essence of the song. I wouldn't hesitate to license this song for film, I don't see how this song isn't ready for every major drama scene in every movie. It just feel right, it fits perfectly for the way it was designed, the mix is perfect and I do believe you are well on your way with this one. Hopefully you have more to release that is on this level. Great job.

The End

There are some nice vocals throughout this piece, particularly when the harmonies come in.. The keyboard plays well with the text as well as the chord progression. There are a few places where I lost the lyrics - either due to listening on my laptop, my "old age" hearing, or some dropped consonants - probably a combination of all three of those things. Call me silly, but I want to hear and understand the entire message of the song I am listening to. Overall good work!

Compassionate, stark, deep, and real

Cody Farlow delivers a compassionate and evangelical tune that acknowledge and express the pain into which life can sink. The lyrics come alongside the listener as a friend, providing comfort and hope in the transformation God can accomplish. The mood is serious and grim, and the sound is stark and dark, consisting of just piano and voice. Cody's strong baritone/bass voice is delivered with expertise and artistry. The brief interludes of harmony vocal are tight to the melody and flawless in pitch. This recording is noteworthy for two reasons. First, the male voice is a deep one. In most contemporary music, the lead vocal is a tenor or alto, so there is a paucity of good Christian tunes written for deep voices like Cody's and those of a multitude of excellent singers whose voices live in that range. Second, the serious tone of the song is a departure from the usual Christian fare, and invites us to look fearlessly into the deeper and sadder aspects of life and bring the light of Christ there. From a songwriting standpoint, this is a good effort. The only small criticism I have of the song is a songwriting consideration, and is only my own personal taste, not any hard and fast rule of good songwriting, and it is this: When he turns his attention to the hope that God can bring, the sound and mood of the song remain the same, so that the listener hears the sadness and pain going on right through the good news, as if there is no change in the way your heart feels. I'd like that note of hope in what God can do to be a musical bridge that alters the mood of the song for a few bars, like the way your heart might feel if you were in some deep dungeon and just for a few seconds, sunlight broke in from a window high above the cold stone floor where you sit. But that's just me. This is a worthy effort, and I look forward to hearing more from Cody Farlow.

Hey, Cody, really enjoy your voice. I am envious, not really, but you have great talent. Most importantly the song communicates and sends a message to other's hearts. The piano is very tasteful. Thank for your ministry to all of us. Keep up the good work and I will continue to support your tracks when they are posted. When you get opportunity check my music out. I pray you will love it. God bless you richly. DE

Great song

Love the feeling of the song and lyrics. Excellent work. I would love to work with someone like yourself on some of the song I do. I could add some guitars to this and I know a bass player who does drums as well. Again, Excellent Work. Keep it up.

Hi Cody, Really awesome job on this song my brother. Love the melody, vocals, harmonies and lyrics. He is the only One who can gives us what we lack. And you are so right when you sing that it is not "The End". I pray you continue to keep writing music for His glory as that's what this world desperately needs at this time. Keep up the awesome work my brother. Craig.

my thought's

Dude, nice job. Piano is perfect, vocals are out front where they belong. Especially yours as your tone is very unique. The harmonies are a really nice fit as well. The arrangement is very simple, which fits. Although I must say I would of loved some strings on this cut. This is a subject that needs to be brought out in the open so THANK YOU for doing just that. Its a little dark, BUT young people are dealing with it. And they need to be shown that Jesus is the way !!
