Haunting and beautifully produced

Brandon Bentley's recording of "For the Color of Your Skin" is a haunting and beautifully executed plea for an end to race-based violence, from the 3-part harmony in the intro to the final note. The arrangement is sparse, with just vocals and strings (no drums or guitar), and the tune is appropriately cast in a minor key. The strings arrangement is excellent, and appropriately understated so as not to get in the way of the vocals, setting a haunting and heartfelt tone throughout. The lead vocal is strong, authentic, and raw -- a powerful combination. It makes you stop and listen, and it makes you stop and think, which is exactly what this tune was meant to do, challenging the listener to apply the Bible's teaching to every day life. Looking forward to hearing more from this artist!

Put it down pull it in

Hi Brandon! I love your song! Very catchy beginning, hook," put it down". It's building like a hit but the transitions pull down the excitement a little bit. If you could shorten these and pull it a bit tighter it is Really Cool! Love your vocals and lyrics are great!! Rock on for sure! Beautiful and heartfelt! Thank YOU for sharing it with me! The perfect message for today

I love this track. It ticks all the boxes for me. Perfect message for today, poignant lyrics, great vocal against a suitably sparse but dramatic arrangement, great hook and chorus which actually feels a different chorus each time you hear it. It deserves to be a hit and to be heard by the masses. A really minor criticism: I would have preferred a simple stop rather than a fade out, mirroring the sharp beginning, Otherwise - congratulations, Brendan Bentley, a track to be proud of, and I wish you success with it, it should be heard on every station!

For The Color Of Your Skin

In the beginning, the tempo REMINDED me of "Rooster" by Alice In Chains. I detect talented influences. Excellence in lyric, composition, tempo. The recording quality mix was excellent. Definately a sound with an echo of past genius. Catchy! BLESSINGS!!!

Today's reality in a song

A snapshot of today's current situation in an amazing song. "For The Color Of Your Skin" got stuck in my head in a good way. It's one of those songs that you will never get tired listening to. Brandon has a voice that you will immediately recognize when you hear it. This song has so much feeling and hit me hard. The recording itself is ready for the airwaves, I wouldn't change a thing. Awesome work Brandon.

Nice guitar.

That beginning part was catchy but painful. It fits good in the middle of the song but dang! I like the lyrics. VERY GOOD. I THINK on the second play the "put it down part" hook sounds better. I like this song it has a really good vibe and you did a really fantastic job on the mix. I was gonna give you a four stars but by the time I got to the end I knew I needed to listen to this song again.Grest tune.

Here a nice rock song. Nice voice of the singer and good choir to. I am curious about your other songs. This is a calm song but listening the voice of the singer, it sounds lot of power! Good job!

Classic Rock

Catchy, good listen

I must admit that this is not my usual type of listening but this guy has a great voice, reminds me of early Bruce Dickinson, with a bit of gospel influence. Nice strings line over the track, and nice arrangement. We'll worth a listen.

Every word carved in stone

I really loved the message, the singing is excellent, and the processing gives room for every word, you can really feel the intention, and this message is all important to our strength in our unity.

For the Color of your skin (put it down)

Nice harmonies, I love the arrangement and the message. With all the hate and violence in our world we need more songs like this. I like that the simple approach with just acoustic guitars and strings. It makes it easier to hear the words of the song. The lead vocal is strong and the mix is excellent. Thank you to Brandon for creating this.

Delicate and strong

Excellent! The voice as a metal singer that can show his softness and propose a great slow song... I really like the backing vocals, discrete but present. It fills and links the song. The bridge with more agressivity but not too much, to keep the listener attached to the song (excuse my english, trying to do my best). Captivating. Quite 5 minutes but not felt as a long and boring song. Very good tune Brandon. That's delicate and strong at the same time... Mix and recording very professional too.

Talent worthy of the Songwriters Hall of Fame

"There's too much lost in the black and white, But not much learned about right or wrong" . To say these lyrics reached out and demanded my attention would be a tremendous understatement . This song is one of those songs that when you first hear it, it leaves it's mark on you . Hitting you right between the eyes and tugging at your heart strings . A powerful message and a powerful voice to deliver that message . With the way the world, and especially our country (USA) is today, we need more messages of hope like this . Anyone who reads this please.......play this song, share this song, and most of all live this song . Brandon Bently, amazing song brother !!
