About Alaska Hilton

Although only a teenager, Alaska’s voice is mature beyond her years. This as a result of her dedication and vocal training with coaches Lauren Dasappa, Chanel Terblanche (classical) and, Krystle Temmerman. Alaska is currently under the tuition of Rosa Castro Doran of Vocal-Vibes where she is completing her Trinity College of London certification in vocals.
2014
Participated in:
Performed as one of the 8 orphans for the Kickstart’s production of “Annie” at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre Durban.

2015 February & October
Performed in Queens of the Opera” at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban.

Talent Africa Regional Awards: 2015
*Received above 80% for vocal solo and musical theatre
*Placed 1st in her age group

*Made KZN team to represent her province in Roodepoort for nationals

Talent Africa Nationals Awards (Roodepoort):
• Received gold for vocal Broadway, vocal Country and vocal Duet
• Received Gold for Musical Theatre and vocal Open
• Made SA team to represent South Africa in the Talent America competition in
New York.
Royal Showstoppers May 2015

• Placed 3rd overall in the Royal Showstoppers competition held in KwaZulu Natal 30th May

Talent America – New York July 2015.

Alaska represented South Africa at Talent America in New York where she competed against some 800 contestants from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, South Africa and Australia. Below reflects her achievements at this event.

• Pinnacle Trophy for highest points scored in singing and highest points scored in dance overall, (Highest Accolade)
• 1st Place – Musical Theatre Song and Dance
• 1st Place – Classical Duet
• 1st Place – Inspirational
• 2nd and 3rd Place – Pop (Alaska performed two numbers in the POP Category)
• 2nd Place – Country
• 3rd Place – Jazz
• 4th Place - Broadway vocal.

December 2015 - Mary Xmas – Rhumbelow Theatre
Alaska performed and starred as a solo vocalist in the show Mary Xmas which was held at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Pietermaritzburg.

February 2016 – Bar Flies – Rhumbelow Theatre.
Alaska starred and performed as a solo vocalist in the Family Players show Bar Flies which was held the Rhumbelow Theatre in Durban.

Les Miserables – School Edition April 2016
Alaska performed the lead role of Cosette in the Amanzimtoti High School in conjunction with Musical Theatre International New York production of Les Miserables in April 2016.

South African Talent Championships October 2016
Alaska entered in six vocal solo categories in the South African Talent Championships held in Pretoria during the first week of October 2016 where she took a clean sweep winning six gold medals for her performances. Alaska was also invited to attend the international event which will be held in Orlando Florida USA in June 2017.

unPlugged The Musical (August 2017)
Alaska performed in the lead role of Suzie in the show, held at Westville Theatre. (Acting and Singing)

Cinder-Ella & her Fella (December 2017)
Alaska performed in the lead role of Cinderella in the very popular year end pantomime held at Westville Theatre. (Acting and Singing)

Demo EP – Good Girl
With the assistance of Don Clarke and Rosa De Castro Doran, Alaska produced and released her demo EP “Good Girl” I Am A Good Girl, Cowboy Casanova, Skinny Love, She Used To Be Mine

Eden’s Got Talent
Alaska was the Music winner of Eden’s Got Talent.

First Single – Be Brave
Alaska released her first original single and music video, Be Brave in August 2017

Second Single - Forgive
Alaska released her second single “Forgive” in March 2018

Other
Alaska has her own band called The Northern Lights, who regularly perform at functions and venues throughout Durban. Alaska and her guitarist Merika also perform as a couple and have recently completed two Acoustic shows to live audiences.
