At the tender age of nearly 15 years, I started a fanzine entitled "The Melting Pot" from my Graphic's Department and Dad's private home office. In a paragraph, that was literally the "Big Bang" 2 years before Nirvanva changed everything. The prime directive was a sort of chain letter, trading magazine advertisements, as well as recieveing calls (at my family home by now from the manager's of D.I., Ice Cube, Tool, Korn,Jay Bentley from Bad Religion and dozens of others. Fugazi, Tool, White Zombie's managers etc. were calling to offer 2 backstage passes and a 45 minute interview myself vs. The main songwriters. I postulate it's success waas my questions were coming from the viewpoint of peers and not PR types. It was a heady time. To say they were shocked at my multi-coloured hair and youthful EXUBERANCE was the truest of understatements, which was quickly dispelled by self-reliance (thanks Emerson) and sheer knoweledge and professionalism. After a 2 decade intermission of learning my writing, musicianship, and business acumen...I have unearthed a 2 inch folder I thought was lost to history, only to re-emerge when I (and to some degree the culture itself) is primed for a serious effort to continue. The original comcept was to send ANY content and I would merely create the master copies to my then readership of 75k. Currently I have 527,000 followers on all my different platforms, and am not only ceding sole editorial control, but also wish to inspire ways of promotion and direct and mass marketing only dreamed of pre-internet. Like any social media, the model is to reach as many as possible, while breaking even, or at least an acceptable loss, so much so that I believe in the fiber of my being in free expression. Won't you join me as we are cosmically all in this together, at this precise time and space? Why not take that smaller extra step into thoughts, ideas, poetry, photography, and silkscreen T-shirts and flyers AS WELL AS cyberspace?. I liken this to a hacker collective for the forces of positivity, education, and promotion of free expression as oppossed to chaos, flexing power, purely for profit or political sway.
