About USER

USER is a recording artist from Vancouver Canada who has been releasing album independently since the 90s. In 1996, USER's debut album, Semi-mental Journey, was the first in the series.
Since these early days ,“I've made music in the underground clubs to the grassy roots, to the back alleys, on the biggest stages to the smallest venues and to rocky beaches.”
With the 7th album, “Sure” USER reignites the album series. With User’s newest collection, it grabs you and takes you through the Musical Mind of USER.
He notes, “With the album Sure, I had some electronic tracks I created over 10 years ago. They just kinda got buried on a drive. It was a time when the musicbiz was on a downward spiral, a shake up, a "shock effect" whatever u want to call it. It was like why bother putting together an album? It was the age of the digital download somewhat like 45s vinyl singles. It was the demise of CDs in the age of limited attention spans and personal playlists.
But you know some writers need more than a short story or a novella to get the idea across. You get fire up and the urge churns, you become unstoppable, focused, obsessed and driven.”
“Its been a while but I needed to finish this album after like years of listening, writing songs going to festivals and just keeping to myself in my studio, the Bunker! I never stopped making music though, I was just trying to keep thing together in this empty cold emerald city called Vancouver, letting life unfold, working on other artist recordings. Hardly playing live at all.
I was dabbling in the acting world and getting involved in film production But one day things just turned, it was like, I just stop listening to all the negativity from others, ya know the naysayers who crush dreams with words. Like I put out the first album 20 years ago, why stop?”
So USER is here for the long haul, it definitely not for the money, its even less for the fame game and for “Sure” it’s the gem in the series.
