Lessons For Life (Some Clean - Some Not So Clean)

Good morning to all 2182 of you awesome folks. Thank you all so much for taking the plunge and becoming/continuing to be my supporters. Every day my appreciation grows for you. Well, with all of my permits secured for the basement renos, I am finally able to forge ahead and proceed with the building. With only a few hickups, the electrical work is done, and all with only one zap. ;) Then I was free to install all of the insulation on the outside walls. I think I will install insulation in the bathroom wall, because no one wants to hear "bathroom sounds" while watching a movie in the family room. ;) lol There are only a few days, maybe a week - or maybe a couple of weeks, of plumbing that have to be completed before the dry wall goes up. For me, this will literally and figuratively bring closure to our three year project. The outing I had with the wonderful folks at the Northgate Baptist Seniors luncheon received me warmly and many said that they were encouraged by the tunes I shared. Please pray that I will have many more opportunities to share these songs at other places. I have a few irons in the fire, but no conformations yet. In the title, I mentioned Lessons For Life (Some clean, Some Not So Clean). Like trying to find a good drink of earthly water when you are thirsty, it is life-giving and thirst quenching when you find a good spiritual watering hole. A fella can go to any old mud puddle and drink but I am afraid that the out is not going to be as expected; soon thirsty and a gut wrenching pain. The mud puddle represents a stagnant body of water where everybody on a well used pathway has walked through it, and animals of many varieties has likely dumped their waste in it. That puddle has been formed by a "depression," whether natural, animal, or man made. That doesn't appeal to me at all. Spiritually, it is like a teaching from someone else who has added their two cents worth (sometimes that's all it is worth) and has "muddied" the waters if you will. You can also go to a larger body of water, where there haven't been too many folks muddying the water, but it is still not the best. Then there is the stream, usually of a solid bedrock, or a spring that comes from deep under the surface of the earth, that is created to be a channel of life-giving fresh clean water that brings life and heath to all who drink from it. Spiritually, this is what I see as we go to the Bible. When we go to the Bible, and ask Father God to grant us a fresh drink of truth from it, there is always a refreshing view of life and an unexplainable strength and health that enters us when we do this on a regular basis. It cleans us up, cools us down, and send us on our way with a spring in our steps that make folks wonder where we have been and why we have that ridiculously catchy smile on our faces . It is then that we can share our testimony as to the life that flows from us. If you haven't experience this yet, go ahead and try. Open your Bible, bow in prayer, and ask Father God to reveal a fresh word of truth that will cause springs of living water to gush from you (John 4:14; 7:38; Revelations 21:6-8) I think you will be surprised at what will happen to you, and I think you will be surprised at what will happen in the lives of those around you. Well, I am sure that you have seen the numbers recently. Because of you wonderful folks, and many others who have not become a subscriber yet, these ol songs of mine have been played over 20 million times now. I am grateful to know that there is a thirst that is being quenched by them, but I still encourage everybody to go to the Bible for their own drink. ;) :) Oh ya, I almost forgot, but I have been tasked with starting up a Cowboy Church in Edmonton. I went to the pastors of the church that my wife and I attend, and asked if they had ever thought of starting up a Cowboy Church out of that location. They said that this would be a great idea, but that they were too busy to do it. You guessed it. They said "That would be a great thing for YOU to do." LOL I am tremendously excited about this, but I am a bit nervous too. It will take place on the first Sunday night of each month; starting October 6 at the Gateway Alliance Church in Edmonton. Please pray that the Lord will be with me and the team that is developing, and grant us all kinds of living water to share, for words of knowledge, words of wisdom, guidance, protection, etc., etc. so that His name is glorified to the max, and that many folks will attend. ;) May the good Lord grant all of you a truly blessed and bountiful Thanksgiving as it approaches. :) Many more blessings to all of you until my next e-shout.
