I've been kicking around music performance back into the '70's - about the same time I started writing songs. I did some busking when I hitchhiked across the USA at 17. I really got hooked when a friend asked me to sit in with his band at a festa in Pedalino, Sicily. I looked up "festa" in my English/Italian pocket dictionary and it said "party". What I wasn't expecting was a huge stage in the piazza and thousands of people! I'm generally described as a Blues artist but I don't limit myself with genre labels in practice. I've moved back the release date for my solo album to post-pandemic to allow me to support the release with live performances. The side-benefit is that I have additional time to work on it. Speaking of time, I have some. I'm available for distance collaboration. You can hear me perform here on N1M, YouTube (theketchfishshow), SoundCloud (ketchfish). DM me.

Thank you to everyone that's listened and shared my work! Doing a shakedown on the PA and getting together with some cats to get live performance and recording together. The long promised new material is forthcoming and life is back in progress!

Hello subscribers,
As you can imagine, the loss of my wife, my mom and last week, my mother-in-law over the past 7 months, have had an impact on my ability to create. Frankly, it's been devastating.
I'm actively working on getting it together and I will be back. Thanks for your patience!

I created a bit of a silly video for Nobody Told Me (you'd want me). Hop on over to my YouTube Channel and check it out here - (expired link)
I used public domain and attribution only Creative Commons footage and it's frankly kind of weird. Hope you enjoy it! While you're there, take a peek at the other content, subscribe and like.
Thanks for your continued support!

I uploaded "It Just Happens (It Hurts)"this morning and the associated video is on YouTube (The Ketchfish Show). "It All Comes Back Again" is also on the channel. Both are "Live from my Livingroom" recordings.
If you want to do a deep dive, check out my playlists. I did a search and added some of my live performances that I found with various groups in the past few years.

Major changes of plans resulting from the pandemic. While I'm still working on, and will release Ol' Ketchfish (my original album project) in the near future, I'm not adhering to a schedule for it at this point. I'm investing effort into a new podcast series that will launch within the next week or so. Music, including some performance, will be a big part of it but there will also be discussion on a range of topics, tech, current events and more. When it drops, I will promote it here. Stay safe, stay healthy!

Hope this finds you well. I'm reaching out to find collaborators for recording, songwriting and live performance. Here's what I've got going on:
I'm working on an album length independent recording project, "Ol' Ketchfish", slated for release in March 2020. Primarily original Blues/Americana/Rock songs - Electric and Acoustic tracks. Collaborators should have the ability to record and transmit a clean .wav file and feel they have something to bring to the table - harp, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, horns, keyboards, etc. Near zero budget so the deal will have to leverage future mechanicals.
Obviously, you can't bake a cake without ingredients. I have some songs but need more for this release, it's follow-ups and just to add to the catalogue. Less specific on genre as it's more governed by the performance than the song in popular music. Co-writing credits and their associated royalties per US statute. Publishing rights and responsibilities subject to negotiation - let's make a deal. The ability to share discernable audio files and talent required, experience optional.
Live Performance opportunities - US only. Following the release of "Ol' Ketchfish", I'll be doing some targeted mini-tours over the following three years. I'll be primarily hiring local talent to support the performances on 5 to 10 day outings within 100 mile geographically centered areas with 1 unpaid rehearsal, 4 to 10 paid performances and the possibility of some unpaid promotional local radio-tv-live streamed spots. Some group performance experience, your own instrument(s), amp, microphone/cable/stand and transportation required. Performances will be predominantly Community Events/Festivals, Livingroom Concerts, Small Outdoor Public and Private events and Small to Medium Venues. Agencies, full bands and individuals welcome to submit. Co-Billing considered. I don't do pay for play or "exposure" gigs. As I've told several venue managers, if I wanted to expose myself I'd drop my pants.
Serious inquiries should contact me soonest. Again, recording and songwriting collaborators can be anywhere in the world. Live performance collaborators should be in the Continental United States - most urgently within 100 miles of the Atlantic Ocean as the initial outings will be on the East Coast. Let's make a deal - and some great music!

My current project, working title "Ol' Ketchfish" may look stagnant - abandoned like so many of the projects you sometimes encounter on online showcase websites like N1M. The reality of it is somewhat different.
The projected release date is still March 2020 to coincide with my retirement from the corporate world that has consumed so much of my time and energy that constrained me from the uncertainty of following my dreams. With my reduced responsibilities to others, I can roll the dice on a new endeavor. But I digress.
What is happening behind the curtain now? That's what I wanted to talk about. One, I'm writing, revising, arranging and recording like crazy. At the same time, I've developed a scalable business plan to make releasing "Ol' Ketchfish", an album length project, a reality. To support the release, I will be embarking on a series of small and non-traditional venue mini-tours in small cities and towns to bring the music directly to my audience. For most of these appearances, I will be engaging local talent to back my performance. In some cases, I'll share the billing and back their performance as well. In others, I will straight up be hiring musicians to play the shows in their geographical area. This method not only reduces touring expenses, it also will keep the music fresh and exciting. Working with different musicians you're just getting to know is much like the adrenalin rush of walking a tightrope with no net. Over my decades of live performance, those are the shows where I'm at my best and that's what I want to give you. My best.
To get back to the business end of things, I deliberately used the word "scalable" in describing my business plan. With my side gigs and performance fees, I can fund a limited version of the release, touring, promotion and merchandising that getting "Ol Ketchfish" out in the world will require. I am also seeking sponsorship/investment and, depending on what kind of commitments I can garner, I can easily expand the number, length and geographical distance I can cover with this model.
In the meantime, "Deep Blues" as performed by the original line up of Brightwater Blues will likely remain the only song up here on N1M to pique your interest until the time draws closer to the release date and initial tours. In around November/December 2019, some other songs will be pre-released - some as rough cuts and some in a finished form. At the same time, short runs of merchandise will be made available.
If you're a musician, particularly those within a state of the east coast, that has an interest in playing some shows with me in the Spring and Summer of 2020, by all means get in touch. Having a ready list of potential collaborators with insight into their local area will save me a mountain of leg work. Small venues, outdoor community events, house concerts and non-traditional venues is the plan.
Hope to see you all next Spring and Summer!
