A convergence of spheresIt's quite tricky finding something to review on N1M, there's a lot out there that simply isn't to taste, and as much that isn't up to scratch... So imagine my satisfaction when I found It'll do you good by Ralph Tomaselli. A jaunty pop single that seems to sit very comfortably on the border of Stereophonics, Radiohead and Paolo Nuttini... and there's a sentence I never thought I'd think, let alone write. Tomaselli clearly has a good idea where he wants his music to be. There is a groove, a good degree of attractive electronic filigree weaving through the number and a cool, indie-style voice that alternates between a telephonic effect and a heavy phase. The whole effect, importantly, is greater than the sum of the parts and that's always what makes a good recording of a good song stand out. Give it a listen. You won't regret it.
Finally some really new! Finally some really new music. It´s alternative style and a perfectly well composition with many additional sounds. The intro feels like a story and the singer has a rather dynamic voice and strong vocal projection. The guitars are extremely good played from a very talented musican. The keyboard sounds very futuristic and is definitely professional and creative. But why do I tell this? The songtext reminded on own problems and touches your heart and soul. This song is not far away from normal radio hits and this one is an original. Listen to the music and if you like, add him. Let others know your recommendation.
PerfectI can only say one thing I would like to hear. A commercial, radio version. A 3 and a half minute version. I think the song rocks and I enjoyed it very much. I hope the best for you and good luck in all that you do!
Raw and rockingIt'll do you good to listen to this song by Rallph Tomaselli. You will be surprised by the sound, the lyrics and the productions. The song can be played in every playlist, you can listen to it, in your car or crack up the volume and dance on it with your friends in your living room or pub. I really love the ' tube ' sound in this song. So, as the singer sings : " why don not you think for yourself " , I surrely would recomend to listen for yourself, It'll do you good.
Feel good yet smart.Definitely a feel good song with perhaps a deeper meaning. ( if you know what I mean ;)) The singer gives the whole experience a surreal and even mystical quality. The actual music itself is very well structured and arranged. Very Good track. listened to it 5x in a row. Keep it up.
review of 'It'll do you good'unusual lyrics that don't initially seem to make much sense double back on themselves and seem to repeat with that phased vocals of his, sliding bass and unusual drum pattern only add to the strange mix. Then the chorus kicks in, 'think for yourself, for a change will do you good, if you take this advice, you will find that it'll do you good.' acoustic guitars and strange effects on the vocals over a synth type riff and programmed drums. Funky kinda track, mixed well, played well, sang well and an interesting concept make this a novel and interesting standout track from the usual stuff we get on here....like it.
Nice SongThis is a perfect example of a song I would play when driving and cruising on the highway. I like the mid-slow tempo you have chosen for this tune. Also like how its like a little rock and a little country.
Trying and tryingI love the sound of the electric guitar about one minute in and onward, generally I cannot fault this song and what Ralph is trying to do, I just think that nobody probably gives a flying crap about what the guy is trying to project. With other similar artists pushing the boundaries a bit more I don't know, maybe keep trying as maybe this is a bridge to better things. I remember a band called Terravision who did this kinda stuff back in the 90's and they came and went and nobody really cared - The song Oblivion though is one that still holds it own as a party rock tune. So in conclusion, nothing wrong here but a stepping stone to better more developed songs.
Good vibeI like the simplicity of this track, good vibe, and interesting vocals. Personally, I would go a bit 'dirtier' with the production, but that's just me! I'm sure this track would sound great live with a full band, Looking forward to hearing more, Ralph!
ITLL DO YOU GOODGREAT USE OF MINOR CHORDS IN VERSES WITH A SLIGHTLY PSYCHEDELIC TAKE WITH VOCAL FLANGING THERE ARE ALSO SOME CLEVER ELECTRO SOUNDS MIXED INTO THE TRACK NOT FORMULAEIC IN ANY WAY AND WILL APPEAL TO LOVERS OF CROSS OVER GENRES THE LENGTH IS PROBABLY A BIT LONG AND CAN BE A BIT REPETITIVE SOME OF THE BACKING VOCALS ARE HARD TO DECIPHER THE PRODUCTION IS OK APART FROM THE VOCALS WHICH COULD DO WITH SOME WORK ON THE CLARITY SIDE OF THINGS OTHERWISE A GOOD EFFORT ALL ROUND
Nice vibeGood sound track vibe with nice instrumentation. The vocals are solid and like the vampy guitar. It's a cruising mellow and eclectic thing going on. Slightly resentment of Donovan and the 60's. NIce job.
It's like cod liver oilIf you dont know what cod liver oil is, you are one lucky person. But why do i write this review with sutch a nasty thing as title? Because when I was forced to take it as a kid my grandmother always said "it'll do you good!" But enough of this! I found t5his track interestingly strange, but nice. Liked the sound, very out of the box. I liked it especialy for being out-of-the-box, as i'm tired of listening to the same thing over and over. Congratulations :)
Doing some goodI like the tracks on this song. A very nice mix of meaderings. I think the vocals could be up front just a bit more. When you go into the talking part it's refreshing to hear you without the radio style vocal. I'm not a big fan of a continuous stream of a one chord patern as it can get a bit monotonous A change would do me good. The lyrics certainly have meaning and cudos for that. I think this song deserves 3.6 stars
Great MusicIn love from the start i would like to collab with u. Looking for all types of sounds to put on an album im working on as well as my EP. if at all possible here is my email. or message me so i can leave contact.
Nice StyleThere's plenty to like about this song. Very nice arrangement, particularly like the way you end with just the guitar. Catchy melody. My only recommendation is to sing the bridge and use it to show your full vocal range.
