Heart Hurtin' Tear Jerkin' SongLast time I heard honky tonk this good outside of Texas, everyone was wearing that mullet. This is good stuff. Hopefully we can get some more TJ Nelson out here in the beer world! Good luck, Mr. Nelson!
Good Song!Really good recording, sound recording is of good quality, vocal is really on track for this song. Excellent musicians playing on this track, definitely radio ready! Should get a lot of air play!
Heart Hurtin' Tear Jerkin' SongYou can always depend on T.J to deliver a solid country music product and this number is no different. The song is down the middle country and the lyrics are certainly tear jerking. The song is a good effort but I have to say the sound and delivery is much like many others I have heard. The band is right on cue with a good arrangement for the style of the song but again it's in the style of middle of the stream Nashville sound. That's not a bad thing but it can sometimes penalize an artist if they are trying to make a piece stand out for it's uniqueness and one of a kind hook sound. The vocals are done with the right amount of style and mix and keep you in the song to the last measure. This effort is one that if promoted a certain way and with the right timing could get a fair amount of air play simply because it's the type of music you like to listen to. Even though it a first cousin to other endeavors I still give it good marks because of the quality of everything that went into this rendition. Nice job T.J.
HEAT HURTIN TEAR JERKING SONGTJ, THERE'S BEEN A BILLION SONGS WRITTEN ABOUT HEART SONGS. FOR INSTANCE, I WROTE ONE ENTITLED A HURTFUL OF HURTING SONGS BACK IN MY TEENS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BACKED BACK A 3-PIECE BANK RELYING MORE ON THE LYRICS AND THE SINGER TO PULL IT OFF. YOU'RE SONG SEEMS RUSHED TO ME, WITH TO MANY WORDS THROWN IN. STILL, IT WILL DEFINITELY GET THE AUDIENCE UP ON THERE FEET. GOOD LUCK.
Cheers to the Pure Prairie League!I'm not really an expert in your genre, but I've got an ol' vinyl live album by the Pure Prairie League which I love listening to, and your song would perfectly fit into their set list. It's all in: fine guitar craftsmanship, a steel guitar as well, the song's got a catchy groove and quite a good tempo, and the harmony vocals are kicking in where they should. Keep on rockin' TJ!
Fun and true CountryThis sounds like a great honky tonk two stepping beer drinking, foot stomping, guitar picking, heart hurting, tear jerking, bundle of fun, sing along song. Bringing it back to the back bone of country. Great job.
If ZZtop and Waylon Jennings had a Baby it would be this song! What a great tear jerker song, I love this, TJ has a great vocal range, the arrangement is perfect, the steel guitar playing is amazing. Great lyrics, really gets to you. Great guitar solo too.
heart hurtinHi T.J Nelson, your a great singer absolutely fabulous, I love your song, your family be proud of you. Have you had any record deals, do let me know. you will go far in your music. all the best of luck.
I really like this songCountry is the only music we listen to. We play all kinds of Country and we like this one Very good job. Keep up the great work. You will go fgar in the Music Business. Thanks for sharing. Thanks again
Driving It HomeGreat, rocking tracks. Good songwriting. Fine lyrics. The band is certainly driving this one home. There is a lot going on between the steel and electric guitars and the piano, which is fun to listen to. The interesting arrangement and great mix are absolutely convincing so that the listener wants to replay this nice song right when it's over. At a couple spots, TJ's fine-sounding voice strains a little on the high notes. Might be just a matter of body posture when he sang it. But foot tapping taps it away easily... Other than that- sweet!
OK, this is what we needGreat song, without doubt. The structure of this song is a classic country rock song. If you need to listen to a country song, this is what you need. The rythm is cheerful and lively. The music flows and when the song is over you have really want to hear it again. The execution is impeccable. the musical instruments are well balanced. About the voices, they blend perfectly with the rest of the song. The three solos are nice, not excessive, without emphasizing the instrumental technique that, however, is evident throughout the execution. Without any doubt this is a great song. Frank Found
heart HurtingTJ Nelson brings us Heart Hurtin' Tear Jerkin' Song. A country song, a tear in my beer song in the vein of Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt and 20,000 that came after them. There isn't anything wrong with this song, except for the complete lack of originality. There is nothing new or of particular interest in terms of composition, performance, recording, tracking, mixing or mastering of this song. It has all been done before and frankly so much better than this. Its an okay song, but its a completely watered down imitation vanilla flavoring of memories past.
AwesomeNow this is what I call real rock'a'beating Country Rock at it's best ...... excellent lead guitar taking over from a true son of a gun Country Rock singer who sings with a lived in voice adding realism to the song! TL Nelson is someone whom I have admired upon other occasions when listening to his music. Thanks again TJ you have another winner with ''Heart Healin' Tear Jerkin' Song''. Regards Johnny Ramone at Angel International management (UK)
