The characteristic sound is what defines them precisely, when you hear them on the radio and could be simply described as a fusion of everything you have ever heard in rock music. In addition they yield number of intertexture secrets and gallons of energy, which radiates from them at their live shows.
Pooh's music production consists of the significant flow of negligence, wily wittiness and irony, reflecting the roots of 90's & 80's dirty guitar music scene. In the actual sound of the band you witness huge variety of tunes and links derived from the world most influential bands on the rock and roll scene (Queens of the Stone Age, The Racounters, The Arctic Monkeys), whose basics are intertwined with melancholic melodies by Eleven, Mark Lanegan, or Muse.
Right after recording first EP, The Pooh started to concentrate on playing their live gigs all over the Czech Republic mostly in the clubs and during two years had the number of played shows reached 100 gigs. In that time The Pooh also established close musical relationship with Austrian DIY label LHAE Records (which supported them with many opportunities to shine
on the stages of many clubs in Austria including the one in the famous Arena Wien).
In 2007 The Pooh recorded their debut album EYES SCREAM IN CREAM that was released on 1st April 2009 under the Xproduction label. Consequently, this year came to be the most important for their upcoming carrier. Thanks to the increasing popularity, publicity, and very positive reviews of both energetic live shows and the debut album, The Pooh became demanded on the Czech music scene. Connected with Bandzone.cz Booking Agency later on, brought them their most successful season concerting in prestigious clubs and taking part on almost all famous festivals and all over the Czech Republic (supporting the band UDG on their tour, Rock for People Festival or Mighty Sounds festival). The Pooh were also
chosen for the lineup of the Bandzone.cz Showcase, which was the live show for six the most talented, acclaimed and promising young Czech bands. In December 2009 the band started to work on their new stuff and made few records, which are planned to be released in 2010 with a new video for the upcoming single. | | |
