About The Deplorables
Orange County ska-punk band The Deplorables are yet another example that ska is not dead. Starting out as just an idea while attending San Juan Hills High School, guitarist Luke Pugliese (@dapug), and bassist David Duplissey (@_divadavid_), made plans to form a band during the summer break. After looking for people to complete the lineup, drummer Kameron Tyler (@ktyler_723), rhythm guitarist & singer Jake Schmitt (@jake_schmitt_2000), & singer Lindsay Macdonald (@614linz), joined the band and The Deplorables became a reality. Practicing in a Crossfit Gym after hours in San Juan Capistrano, The Deplorables were able to find their sound, play loud, & start writing songs. Not long after joining the band, Jake Schmitt decided to leave and pursue other goals, leaving the band with only one singer. A few things changed, but they went on & continued what they started. In December of 2016, the band headed into the legendary Saltmine Studios in Mesa, Arizona and recorded their first 2 singles. Influenced by many different bands including HB Surround Sound, Rancid, X, The Interrupters, No Doubt, Reel Big Fish, Channel 3, Obituary, & many others, The Deplorables were able to find a sound slightly different than most Orange County ska-punkers. After a day in the studio, the first 2 songs, Sox & Wolfpack, were finished.
