| Bio of the Artist |
Aim: To make original alternative music without being pigeon-holed into any one genre using the basic rock elements of vocals, 2 guitars, bass and drums.
Materials: Fender Strat, Fender Squire, Musicman Bass, Marshall JCM 900 1960's LEAD Cab, Hughes & Kettner Tri Amp MKII, H&K Cab, Sonor Drums, Vic Firth Sticks, Beer and Spirits.
Description: They rock your socks off by stimulating brain synapses. An exploration into the profound faculties of chemistry and music and the effects on the human brain and psyche.
Objective: Have fun, rock hard, keep fit, write great music, perform globally, make friends and fans, make film clips and be successful.
Conclusion: We're trying our guts out to get there. Nothing is going to stop the flow.
New Bass player just slotted straight into the band line up without any hassles at all. It's a really special occasion, he's brought a new element to the old songs and we have just written 5 new songs ready for performance. 2008 is gonna rock hard.
Why this name?
The band name came about because we wanted something that people would see and be reminded of us. Now, when you walk around in any city you are sure to find a Chemist. Hence, we wanted people to see that sign and start hearing our music in their head. We also wanted a bit of a stage theme to boot so we rock out in labcoats with test tubes and beakers bubbling.
Do you play live?
Man, playing live is our bag of tricks. We live to play live and every moment on stage is an opportunity to shine. We always make the most of it. Probably my favourite time onstage was at the Brunswick Hotel in Feb 2007 when we all came together and jammed out hard with each other jumping off the stag together and really giving the crowd something to remember.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Only for the better. Big recording contracts are a thing of the past. What we see these days is the ability for the artist to make most of their music at home and then take it somewhere to be mastered. This is the way it should have always been. No bigwigs taking the piss, controlling the industry. Just people making real (not over produced) music for the love of it and getting recognition.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If they gave us the freedom to play with who we wanted and where we wanted in compromise for doing what they wanted, perhaps. Either way, the rest of the boys would.

Your influences?
These bands have changed our lives: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jnr, Primus, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Beck, Cake, ACDC, James Brown. Many more are bewildering us everyday.
Favorite spot?
Too hard to pick one. Melbourne, Australia for it's indepedent music scene and open mindedness of the following. People just go out to see a gig on any night of the week here, no matter if they've heard it before or not, they just want to hear new music and stay in touch with the scene. London, England, need I say more? Just a great place to be in the summertime. So I want endless summer in both these cities. Rougemont, Switzerland. I love the Alps, this is dream country.
