Her musical background started in Choir in middle and high school, and one year in college. She was one of the students that always got pointed out in her choir due to her slight southern twang. She was inspired by great artist such as Olivia Newton John, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrel, Crystal Gail. Later in life after learning to play guitar and hanging with musician, Tami's musical knowledge bloomed by other great musical artist and singer songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Etta James, Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, and Slaid Cleaves. Tami writes songs from her life stories and experiences that come from the heart. They are powerful, intimate, and moving. Some people would describe Tami when listening to her songs as if she really takes you there and that you can feel every emotion that she portrays.
