| | | | | | | | | | | | Bio of the Artist | Formed in San Antonio Texas in early 2002, Strikes Back has been writing, playing, promoting and performing they’re own unique brand of hard rock music all over the state for the past three years now. Gaining a bigger fan base after every show with they’re energetic and involved live performances, it’s no surprise that they have begun to take Texas by storm. With music that is catchy, unforgettable, intense and (the most important) fun, Strikes Back has had no problem winning anyone over. “We try to write music that can appeal to anyone.” Say’s guitarist/lead vocalist Jon Huston. Strikes Back shows have been known to pull a crowd from all ages, kids in grade school and college to adult’s can all be seen singing along at the shows. People who are into any genre (punk, metal, rock, hardcore etc.)Will find sanctuary in this music.
Drummer Bill Wilburn, Bassist Michael Tellez and Guitarist/vocalist Jon Huston make up this trio from the Lone Star State. Strikes Back’s music is something everyone can relate to, and sometimes something no one can. With songs about those pesky life situations we all deal with to songs about video game playing runaway’s from Utah, It won’t be long before you find yourself singing along. The fullness of the music comes from the experience of the band as musicians. “I was outside the club when I heard Strikes Back playing, when I went inside I was surprised to see only three guys up there, their music sounds so full,” said Matt Yates (a fan). Drumming that won’t let up, bass lines that make grown men cry, in your face guitar playing and creative vocal melodies will leave an impression that won’t soon fade away. One of the attractive points of Strikes Back’s is its rawness.
There has been a lot of interest in Strikes Back lately, from sponsors, radio stations and club owners. The band has been played on some Texas and Ohio radio stations, such as 99.5 KISS, 102.7 KROCK and WLFC 88.3 in Findlay, Ohio. Club owners have had Strikes Back play in such cities as, Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Marcos, McAllen, Fredericksburg as well as many clubs in San Antonio.
Strikes Back has just completed the 2006 East coast summer tour and has continued production on "Have Fun With your Dead Uncle. The band will focus on the Texas music scene until it's completion. | | |
