Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Steve Jones started or played in various original Rock and Roll bands as a boy. He even recorded a couple of demos of original music with his band, Foreign Exchange. Soon after, Stevemoved to the Okanagan, and eventually, in the mid nineties, Steve got back into the music business, helping to start the popular Penticton B.C. cover band, Loose Change!
After a fun filled couple of years of playing a busy “house gig” schedule with Loose Change, the band folded, and in the Fall of 1999, Steve went into the studio with a hand full of original songs and some new musicians to work with.
This music was not released for many years, but it was at this time that Steve was invited to join the ever popular,Amazing Rubber Band. In February 2000, he did. He would be with the A.R.B. for the next thirteen years. The band would go on to record three C.D.s, and win many awards over the years as the best entertainers of the South Okanagan by several magazine and local newspaper reader polls.
All the while, Steve continued to record and release and perform his original solo music and in 2011, Steve started The Steve Jones Band. They began playing gigs at wineries and popular patios through out the Okanagan valley, becoming one of the busiest local performers in the Okanagan! In early 2013, due to conflicting schedules, Steve left the A.R.B. to focus strictly on his solo projects.
Now in 2014, Steve Jones is a veteran of the music industry, and offers an acoustic show that is made for any winery or patio. Always trying to keep things fresh, Steve finds the right mix of classic rock songs, some newer coversongs, and a sprinkle of Steve's favourite originals.
November 1st 2014 sees Steve Jones and Great Britain artist Owen Hodgson introduce a Shiny new band, "So?", with a Shiny new single and video "Yes I Know" and a Shiny new album called "SHINY OBJECTS".
