Bio of the Artist
Stanton Lanier's passion is to bring listeners peace and rest in a hurried world. His improbable story (chemistry degree to pianist/composer with nearly 30,000 CDs distributed) began with piano lessons at age six. In 2000 he began creating scripture inspired piano melodies to bring peace to the soul of every listener who encounters them. This has resulted in five original albums -- Walk in the Light (2001), Still Waters (2002), Draw Near (2004), The Voice (2005) and Unveiled (2008). There is also a piano book for each of the first four recordings. The two newest projects were produced by Will Ackerman, Grammy Award winning founder of Windham Hill Records, who says of Unveiled, "the music is filled with both soaring inspiration and a sense of remarkable peace."

People often describe Stanton's melodies as "calming, soothing and uplifting," and many share that they discover a unique and personal sense of peace. Listeners consistently rank the song Peace in the Top 10 on Comcast Cable's Soundscapes television channel (four weeks at #1 to date). His piano music has also been heard on Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, The Weather Channel, the Delilah radio show, iTunes and many traditional and internet radio stations. Stanton's albums have been purchased by listeners across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. His concerts combine all original compositions with a captivating visual presentation of the earth's beauty. He has shared the stage with acclaimed artists Will Ackerman, David Lanz, Tracy Silverman and David Cullen.

Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Stanton grew up loving basketball and piano. He composed his first song at age 14, and wrote over a dozen songs during his high school years in Milton, Florida. He played a variety of musical styles during his twelve years of classical training, and especially enjoyed pieces by Bach and Beethoven. He continued to play piano and write music during college and graduate school, while completing a chemistry degree at Georgia Tech, and an MBA at the University of Georgia. He spent fifteen years in the business world, and was a financial advisor with Ronald Blue & Co. for nine years. He became a full-time pianist and composer in 2004 after founding Music to Light the World, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a vision to "bring peace to the soul."

In addition to music, Stanton enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, shooting basketball, traveling, and reading. One of his favorite quotes is "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive" (from the book "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge). Stanton and his family reside in Marietta, Georgia.
