First Impressions...

Well first impressions are everything. When I take the time to actually do a review. I actually listen to the whole entire song. There are a lot of possibilities with this song.. Need to tone down the offensive language. It usually never bothers me ,but in this case it is distracting from the song. I did like the arrangement of the song. You need to polish up the main chorus. With a little time invested in this song you could take this song to the next level. Remember what songs reviews are for... They are building blocks for the independent artist... Take notes and make changes based on you feed back.. This shows people your are serious about your craft. I don't support the profanity, but I understand the hip hop music and the importance of it. That said, I like the lyrics and the flow of the music. I would push those lyrics out, since you are saying it. Be confident in what you are saying and the message you are trying to portray. Represent! "Stevie" Williams

Review for Hood Certified

This song is Rap/Hip Hop, I don’t listen much to this style of music, so I can’t give a great review only my opinion on what I here. Lyrics and music are repetitive and not anything different from what everyone else is doing. “You should put an edge on this song” that keeps you from sounding like everyone else and would make this song stand out above the rest. Try not to use the same words over and over again, “just my opinion” On the plus side, vocals are understandable through out the whole song and over all the Production is good. Where do I start, I like to listen to real down to earth music from the heart, I'm real old school and find the lyrics to be over the top, lighten up on the "N" word, it's ok to drive home your message but it's over the top. The song is a work of art from a decade that has passed! Saying all that it has a real good rhythm and supporting vocals. I can tell there is a lot of real talent in the group of musicians here, don't wast it!

Well I think its a solid track. I´d leave it playing in my car stereo. some of the vocals in the 1st verse are a bit messy a bit out of sync in parts but its got a good hook and nice production on the backing track. I think you have loads of potential. This type of Hip Hop is dead though. Theres been a revolution and pop electro is now considred Hip Hop, but this is traditional and I respect it. This beast called Hip Hop keeps changing you have to change with it or get left behind....or wait for it to come all the way back around. Personaly I like this style so good work!

I do agree with some of the other reviews on this one. The Lyrics are dated.has that early 00's sound. All of that aside. I think the track is marketable and easy to digest. The production and recording it self is clean and right on point. It has a hook you can remember and sticks with you after hearing it the first time. Your best bet is to try something a little bit different and try to really come original on it. But keep the key points of writing this song in mind. It is a good song, its just not right for the commercial music market right now. Keep doing your thing and always try to push your creativity to do something new.
