Year’s End
Just a quick note to thank y’all for your support and to wish you a fine holiday season. I came across a verse of a Xmas song started many years ago which I must complete some year.
I’ve got to get away
Can’t wait for Spring
Because something is the matter with everything.
There’s tinsel on the ceiling
And tinsel on the tree
The only thing that’s missing is tinsel on me.
I’m dressed in leather
Santa’s dressed in red
And my hangover feels like seven dwarves pounding on my head.
But later in the evening
There’s nothing to fear
When Santa rolls down the chimney we’ll greet him with a bomber and a case of beer
And have a very metal Christmas.
I did not mean that to be disrespectful or bleak, but an acknowledgement that Christmas is not a pleasant time for everyone, especially if you you are impoverished, or lonely, or separated from people and things that you love. So for all of you that are in a good place, I i wish you more of the same for now and the future and for those feeling displaced, all I know is that I have been there and whether by good fortune or good management have come through the other side with much more resistance to the demons that once plagued me. And that is my fondest wish for you.
