"Hi Robin When I got message from numberone to visit your page I thought it would be another crap artist out there trying to steal my attention but I was really surprised by the quality of your music. Please keep me updated on any news! I have PayPal is it possible to buy your CD?" YES AT www.littlefishrecords.com
"With 6 efforts released over the past 10 years and a brand new record out now, Robin Stone has evolved from rhythmic singer/songwriter, to a groovy, Funk/Pop artist that still has a lot of content to deliver. 'Music should have something to say. Feed the ears, feed the soul. Dress it up groove and feed the body.' Ironically, after losing her voice to a tumor from a sudden, life threatening illness, she fought back and won 'Best Vocalist of 2009' in Scene Magazine, not to mention had a very productive 2010. The latest good news is below."
2010 is winding down and I am headed for the studio. In 2010, we put out a new record called Bad Girl, a live record called Robin Stone LIVE 2010, a cool video for the song "Bad Girl" is coming out soon, plus a DVD to go with the Live album is in the delivery room. What are we doing now? Still giving birth! We are in preproduction for the new album, putting together a multi fronted side project, planning for a possible film and STILL nursing in the press baby from Bad Girl. We are expanding and the buzz is resonating. What's driving this? Go to the Health Blog to read an inspiring story about my struggles and triumphs trying to beat a sudden illness that stopped my world, yet fueled my journey and brought my career new meaning. Click on the player below to hear tracks, and if you enjoy it, please order music. Your support is priceless. Most of all I want you to be a part of what I do. We are all part of the greater universe, the higher self. I welcome all thoughts. Send them along on the Comments or Contact. I do read them all. Thank you for supporting my inventions in music for so many years. ~Stoney

BIO: WHO IS SHE? They call her Skinny, Funky, White Chocolate! Crooning and soulful, Stone is really a down home goofy girl, who has her hands in a lot of cookie jars. She is a May 22nd Gemini, so she likes to be Jill of All Trades. She grew up in a typical chaotic, broken, poor, alcoholic home, but studied cello. Strange, we know. She got a lot of material that way. She worked all through grade school and high school to support the home, then worked full time and studied Kinesiology at BG full time where she not only got her B.S., but also got a degree in the gritty, "teach yourself how to play guitar, bass, drums, percussion and sing." Her mom passed away just two weeks before she graduated. She also used poetry since she was a youngster to cope with hard times, and all of these ingredients inspired her to write songs...
As a native Clevelander, Stone has grown in her grassroots following from grabbing singer/songwriter, to an explosive full band, to record label owner, to producer. She tours non-stop. She released her first self titled EP in 1998. With her next full release, "My Heart" (2001), she made her mark. Her third release, "RushMore" (2003), has caught the media, and in between she released a live record "Live at the Oakland" (sold out). Her fifth record, "Bad Girl" (which is a high energy R&B, Neo-Soul, all smooth, Groove record) has been nationally released and is catching ears now!!! Her brand new "Robin Stone Live 2010" CD is out June 22! Yeesh! She also has a DVD of the most recent Cain Park performance available, a solo CD in the works, and a DVD of the LIVE CD coming in August. She has begun another studio project to be released later this year, is editing the new music video for Bad Girl and going to be in a film?... Busy, busy, busy... Stone’s campaign has made waves across over 1,000 national and international radio stations, charting along the way. CDs are available in stores and on-line now at www.LittleFishRecords.com and ITunes.com.
WHAT DOES SHE SOUND LIKE? It’s the energy of a female Dave Matthews delivered with the elegance of Natalie Cole. The pulse of Erikah Badu with the eloquence of Joni Mitchell and kick in the ass Jill Scott/John Legend style.
WHY DOES SHE MATTER? She's got something to say, real content inside of driving beats and Intelligent Groove. She's putting on a show you'll remember and making records that stand out from the crowd.
WHERE DOES SHE FIT? This award winning multi-intrumentalist/ producer/songwriter can jam out an entire 4 hour set, sooth you in an intimate theater, rock a power set at a major club, festival, or wow the audience of your House Concert with amazing behind the scenes story-telling. She has also warmed thousands for names like Jewel and Bonnie Raitt and performs the college and solo circuit. She'll even throw in dessert. Try her on your radio station! WHAT IS SHE DOING? The big news is that in the last three years, she put her new band together of world class players and is stepping up the level of intensity yet again. Even tho she had and has to take time off to beat her illness, currently she is promoting "Bad Girl". The national campaign is headed up by Fly on the Wall Media. The She Loves You Records staff is working on broadening the touring market. We held new radio campaign for the title track from RushMore entitled “No Fool” back in 2004 and spun well over 1,300 national and international radio stations. Stone’s Distributor Little Fish Records, is promoting digital sales and expanding the stores that carry Stone’s records as well as soliciting the licensing of Stone’s music for Recording, Film and Television. Stone, herself, created this new website to keep it fresh, interesting and interactive. Everyone is busy in SLY town.
PEACE AND MANY THANKS FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT. ~Stoney
THE GUY WHO MAKES THE GRAMMYS SAID: "I have listened to your cd's several times (you're on our 'play list' here in the shop). I must say I am more than impressed. I am not a fan of "funk" but the way you have infused it with jazz and your incredible voice and delivery I find your music very inspiring. I am always blown away how after all that has been done through years an artist can come up with something so unique and create a 'style' all their own." ~John Billings | | |
