About Right Way To Nowhere

Hailing from Greenville, Ohio, Right Way To Nowhere is out to bring back the REAL meaning of 'Metal'! After several years spent perfecting their craft and lineup, the band is out and ready t Right Way To Nowhere started as a 2-man jam band in 2002. In the ensuing 12 years, the band has seen massive changes in musical style and goal direction! The band, a brainchild of guitarist Luke Nealeigh, and bassist Justin Keiser, formed seriously in 2009, just after Luke and Justin had finished writing and making demos for their first full-length album. The band recruited drummer Dalton Kolling, Vocalist Chelsey Benson, and Luke’s younger sister, guitarist Majennica Nealeigh and began rehearsing the material Luke and Justin had written. After only a few shows, Dalton left the band, forcing them to search for a new drummer.
The band searched for only a few months, going through a few potential candidates, but ultimately deciding to have Majennica man the drum throne (she had improved to an unbelievable level after having drummed for a local KISS tribute band, KIDS, for a few years)! The band began to record a few cover songs to test the waters of their current lineup.
In 2010, the band recruited guitarist Cody Petry to fill the vacant rhythm slot. The songs sounded pretty awesome, but after only 2 shows, Cody left the band, wanting to take his music in a heavier direction. Undaunted the band forged ahead, self-producing their first full-length album, “The Storm of Evensun”! The band began to play as many shows as they could, promoting their music, and building a fanbase in their hometown, and an even bigger one in Winchester, Indiana! The band received praise from fans young and old, constantly complimenting their musicianship and tight sound!
In 2011, the band began sessions to write material for a second full-length album. Luke and Justin found themselves somewhat disappointed at their inability to keep all four band members focused on writing, and ended up, once again, writing almost every part themselves. Even so, shows continued to get bigger and better, with the band racking in more and more fans each time they played, despite Vocalist Chelsey’s sudden seeming disinterest in continuing.
At a show in May 2011, Luke and Justin met Andy Study, the Lead Vocalist of a cover band playing after Right Way To Nowhere. The three got along great, and they agreed to continue playing shows together more often in the future! Luke and Justin were impressed so much by Andy’s voice, that plans were even made to have Andy appear as a guest vocalist for a song on the new album!
The band continued to play shows throughout 2011 and 2012, but only little further work was accomplished on new songs. Luke and Justin addressed the band several times in regard to the lack of work on the new material, but to no avail. Tensions came to a peak after a show in August 2012, resulting in a heated argument between Justin, Luke, and Chelsey about the continuance of the band in it’s current state. Although the argument seemed to end on a positive note, Chelsey played only three more shows with the band. Tensions remained and worsened quickly, so on Novemeber 20th, 2012, Right Way To Nowhere posted on Facebook that the band was going on ‘possibly permanent hiatus’.
After only a few short months, Andy Study contacted Luke and Justin about doing a project together! He had just left the band he had been playing with and was hoping to do something big. After contacting, and re-enlisting Majennica, the band secretly reformed, posting ‘big news coming soon!” on Facebook.
On March 16th, 2013, Right Way To Nowhere officially announced Andy Study as their new Lead Vocalist! The new lineup played it’s first show at a venue in Dayton on May 24th, 2013 and new as soon as they came off the stage that they were on to something big! The band immediately recorded a five song EP, containing two re-recorded songs from “The Storm of Evensun” and three brand new tracks that had been written for the second album!
The band has spent this past year learning new covers, playing A LOT of shows all around Ohio and Indiana, expanding it’s AWESOME fanbase, and continuing to finish up writing for the new album! They have received even more praise from hundreds of new fans, once again spotlighting their individual and collective musicianship, complimenting how well Andy fits into the band, and how much they have all improved!
The band is looking to 2014 as a year for bigger and better everything!! They are currently getting ready to release four more re-recordings from “The Storm of Evensun”, and excited to begin recording for their second full-length album, “Life and Death”! The band is constantly looking to reach more people that will enjoy listening to their music as much as the band enjoys making it, and constantly out to put on a great live show!! They are hoping to make music their profession as soon as possible and have every intention of doing whatever it takes to get there!

Thanks for reading an listening!
