About Remello Smooth

Remello Smooth was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Although he started on the North side, he always had family, friends and connections to all sides of the City. Remello has always known that music was his passion. 2001 Blueprint album made him really start to pay attention to Hip Hop/ Rap and the detail of it. So he went back and truly listened to the artists that he had grown up and heard, but this time he could understand what they were saying. That opened a whole new door for him and started a new chapter in his life. His house was always filled with soul and r&b which embedded the passion for the music and meaning behind it. He started to combine his passion of music and the art of Hip Hop/Rap and his words started to flow. He started Rapping just as a release of the pain and it became his own form of poetry by being able to write it down. He started to write on whatever paper he could find. Remello has always wrote his lyrics on the back of bills – hoping that one day his words would pay for all of those bills… and anything else anyone needed.
