Reggie Wright / About
I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the second of 3 sons born to Mr & Mrs. Reginald Wright Sr in October of 1973. I grew up in the Church of God In Christ and was early on exposed to some of the best gospel music of the 70's and 80's. I didn't really start singing until I was about 13 and quickly learned that THIS was what I wanted to do in life. I left Pittsburgh in 1996 in search of dream fulfilment briefly resided in Detroit and then moved to Atlanta. After 5 years, I heard the call of the wild and moved west to San Francisco where I garnered my love of Jazz. . Some of my earliest vocal influences would be namely The Hawkins Family, Tramaine Hawkins, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and the Clark Sisters (gospel). Sarah Vaughan by far my greatest jazz influence followed closely Carmen McRae, Shirley Horn, Mel Torme and many more too numerous to name. I look forward to recording and bringing the Vocalist back to the forefront of consciousness rather than overly produced entertainment. Both with some of my favorite covers and also some original pieces. Dreams do come true! So stay tuned for more and thank you for listening.
