Hello from Australia: To all of my friends and supporters from Numberone Music

CD Cover Blu-Azz

More information on me for those who are maybe not aware. RE: AYERS ROCK: For the Australian music historians. Back in the 70’s I had just arrived back in Australia after many years touring and recording in the USA; and after having written I Am Woman for Helen Reddy, I would have to say that America was a great grounding and experience. After picking myself up and dusting myself off, one of the first things I did on arrival back on Australian soil, was to put another band together. This band included myself of course {song writing, guitar & lead vocals}, my long time friend Duncan Maguire {songwriting & awesome bass} and one of the best drummers I had worked with, including in the USA, was the master time keeper Mark Kennedy. The three of us were the foundation members of the new band and for a while we worked as “Burton, Maguire & Kennedy” a Rock-Soul-R&B trio. After a while, we decided to add Col Loughnan a brilliant musician. Col played soprano saxophone, wrote arrangements and more; then we also added Jimmy Doyle with his amazing collection of guitar sounds. This five-piece band evolved into what we would eventually call Ayers Rock. We all based ourselves in Melbourne; and were signed to a young burgeoning record/publishing company named “Mushroom Records”, but unfortunately, we only ever got around to recording two songs as that first “Ayers Rock” lineup. Dam, We needed more studio time! I had dozens of songs ready to be recorded. The two songs that we did record were two that I had written. One song titled “Rock ‘n’ Roll” Fight; and the other was “Sorrowful Eyes” on the “B” side. I was a bit shell shocked from my song writing experiences in America, so I announced to the guys that I would soon be leaving Ayers Rock for a well earned vacation; and also to spend more time song writing, while having a good think about my next musical move. That “next musical move” turned out to be my “Dreamers & Nightflyers” album that I recorded for Warner Brothers Australia. “Too Hard To Handle” and “Paddington Green” came off this album and both charted well on radio, but that’s another chapter again in the rather long Ray Burton story! . . . to be continued. . . . someday! In the meantime, I would be most grateful if you would go to iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/blu-azz/id339684736 and purchase a song or two from my Blu-Azz album. Hey, maybe you could buy the entire album . . . lol :-) Seriously though, if you like a song or two from my Blu-Azz album, please inform as many people as you can to raise their awareness of me. I would really appreciate that :-) I value your support and You Guys Rock !
