Not the usual beginnings in the rock 'n' roll pamplet of idiocy but for Rampant Jake the truth is often stranger than the weasel in a hessian sack he got for christmas one year.Though he can't remember who it came from.
After an unenviable childhood (see "Grandma On The Menu" for more info) young Rampant Jake ran away with the circus when he was thirteen where he fell in love with the star of the show. A svelte young freak named Josie Ablabab, known professionally as "The Lobster Girl" on account of her hand deformity, but to her friends she was known as "Scissorfist". She broke his heart when she moved to California to become a porn star, but by this time Rampant Jake was in charge of his own ride which, despite repeated attempts by the authorities, was never shut down because of it's ability to cause massive internal injuries. "The Hysterectomiser" was the most infamous ride at the show and it's popularity was growing but he was restless.
The monetary bonus of sneaking people across the mexican border didn't ease his woes. He needed to express himself artistically and after seeing Buckweet perform at the Jugs-O-Rama club he knew he has to be part of the band. Starting as second jug player he soon blossomed and has written pretty much all the material on their new album which also saw him take over frontman duties after the cockswipe known as Caleb was given the boot. Relishing in the role as head honcho of the music scene's most belittled and misunderstood band he can only help take them to places they never knew existed outside the confines of bad acid. Starting a sideline in ultra low budget exploitation movies (a la Russ Meyer) with the help of former smugglee and Buckweet cazoo man Sleazy Ramirez this is a project which will not only grow in notoriety but may also see him end up with a prison sentence after still being on probation after being banned for drink driving.
He has added a new finger to his glove.
Stealing most of the members of Buckweet he returned to his bluegrass and country roots which were soon infused with his love of hip hop, funk and rap. A distinctive and questionable approach to music but this is a man who believes that wood is on the periodic table of elements so to query his ideas and ideals is merely a waste. Forging ahead with his plan despite what friends, relatives and common sense would have him believe this debut record from the hip-hop hillbillies themselves should see RJBMJB at the start of a growing scene well aware of it's common absurdities and genre bending material. At least the future seems interesting for Rampant Jake Bullets.
