It's December, Here's what's up!

What's up quphonic subscribers!!! Thanks for adding your name to my list, means a lot. I wanted to tell you the story of how I started wanting to make music. I grew up in Detroit, MI, USA and learned to play a few traditional instruments, poorly: piano (sucked), flute (not as bad, I can actually can play songs), bass guitar (also sucked). I was in a garage band for awhile with this guy: https://johnbunkley.bandcamp.com/ He is an amazing jazz artist now. I got into electronic music when I heard three releases all around the same time in 2004: • Dangermouse's The Grey Album (mixes Jay-Z's Black Album with The Beatle's White Album) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFd1QvNPKmI • Beck's Hell Yes EP (where he play's songs from Guero as if they were all chiptune) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc7BAjFEyuA • Kraftwerk's Tour de France Soundtracks (their first new CD in many years) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMwUToUmQjo I had read about Dangermouse -- at the time he was a dude that put together this amazing work of art by locking himself in his room for two weeks and chopping up beats and sounds from the Beatles and adding Jay-Z's lyrics. It was a bootleg kind of viral download at the time, totally worth finding if you haven't heard it. Beck's chiptune style EP showed me how much you can do with a limited amount of 8-bit sounds. and Kraftwerk, well damn.. they're Kraftwerk. So all that got me interested in making my own songs, and so I got busy. Attached is one of the first songs I made that I really liked, see if you dig it! From 2007!! https://quphonic.bandcamp.com/track/motherboard

 :scream: :smirk:  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :rage: :disappointed: :sob: :kissing_heart:  :pensive: :confounded: :flushed: :relaxed: :mask:  :broken_heart: :expressionless:  :weary: :triumph:  :sleepy:
