Pam McCoy / About
Pam McCoy is a NJ musician and songwriter, who performs regularly as a solo, duo, or with her group, Familiar Faces.
She has worked with a number of musicians over the last three decades, such as:
Stormin' Norman Seldin (also Stormin' Norman & Steel Breeze)
Dr. Bob & Co
Dave McCarthy (McCarthy & McCoy Band)
She recorded three songs on an original soundtrack for a Broadway-bound production, called SPIRIT, written entirely by George Severini, and including some of the most talented area musicians.
Further studio work has included backing vocals and arranging on a number of cd's and ep's with some very talented artists, like Stormin' Norman Seldin, Sam Sims, Emily Grove, Kevin John Allen, and John Hathaway.
She has performed many times with longtime friend, Slick Aguilar, of Jefferson Starship and David Crosby band fame, most recently at the PAC in Newark, NJ for a fundraiser, headlined by Marty Balins, and Lou Gramm. And shared the stage with Slick for a Starship 40th Anniversary show in, singing backing vox in Aug. ’14 at the great BB King’s in NYC.
Her love of music and arts has always been a driving force. Classical vocal training gave way to playing guitar and singing folk-rock in the 70's, adding her signature gutsy spin to blues, Motown, country, pop, and rock along the way.
Performing with Tim McLoone's Holiday Express since 1996, an annual 6-week project, bringing music and the gift of kindness to area hospitals, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters in the tri-state area, has allowed her to integrate her passion for music with charitable giving.
The Twilight Concert, for Children with Aids Foundation, is another ongoing pursuit since 1997, as well as Women of Song, Light of Day Foundation, Rock the Runway, 180 Turning Lives Around, and others.
She is currently working on her original music for an ep, that weaves in and out of a life well lived, loves won & lost, and simple musings of human nature…..stay tuned!
