Even being a Management Engineer and a Ph.D. at University of Naples Federico II, during years I always pursued the study of the piano, alternating periods of lessons with private teachers and periods of sole study, because of studying and working reasons. However, I play piano since I was about 7, playing solo music or in rock bands, and mine is essentially a classical setting, but I found my real “musical feeling” experiencing the progressive rock genre, with names going from ELP to Dream Theater. This is in fact the kind of music I owe great part of my ides and musical piano settings to, trying to follow in particular the style of piano/keyboard players such as Keith Emerson, Kevin Moore, Rick Wakeman or Jordan Rudess. Close to these there’s the contribute that I received (as well as I receive) constantly from a number of different sources, including the classical music, predominantly from the XX century (Ginastera, Bartok, Debussy, Rachmaninof), together with the masterpieces of maestros like Vivaldi, Corelli and Albinoni, up to, in the present age, the atmospheres from Rondo Veneziano and other contemporary composers, such as Yanni Krissomalis, George Winston or Giovanni Allevi. In these years I also developed my experience as director of a polyphonic chorus (1996–2004), for which I composed some pieces, while I’m now singing in another professional polyphonic chorus as baritone. | | |
