About OPERATION DETONATION
We’re a three piece band known as OPERATION DETONATION, a local band based in Salford. Born from a local music group called Salford Musical Youth (SMY) Band members are JACK 14yrs; Guitar & Vocals, RHYS 16yrs; on Bass and AMBER 14yrs; on Drums. Our main influences are bands such as; Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, and anything with a bit of punch really. We only get to meet up once a week for a couple of hours (After school). Over the two years we’ve been together, we’ve attended many community fundraising events and played in some local pubs/clubs too. Our first appearance in public was in October 2014 at St. James's church in Broughton, at the Alan Henning fund raising event. SMY organised a music workshop at the 2015 'Festwich' held on St Marys Park in Prestwich, Bury. Its one of the biggest tribute band festivals in the UK. We played a number of times to the crowd over the two day festival, we’ll be back again doing the same this year (2016). We also played our part in the Salford music festival. We do cover songs, but more recently we entered into an under 18’s ‘battle of the bands’ competition where we managed to bag ourselves some studio recording time at the SSR studios in Manchester. We’ve now recorded our first original Called 'can you call this conflict' It's based on unnecessary suffering caused by conflict often brought on by the people who 'run' governments, making decisions that we (ordinary people) can't do anything about. I'm sure you'll get the idea if you watch the video. ( click on the home tab just under the pic's) We're currently working on more of our own stuff. so stay patient, we'll upload more as and when. Hope you enjoy our song. Your support and comments are welcome. Thank you. Rhys, Jack & Amber. PEACE to all.
