Bio of the Artist
Obscure is a band of four musicians from Bergen musical underground. Musical preferences stretches from classical, through elektronica to Black Metal, expressed it self in an aggressive and strange heavy metal we insist calling Doomgie. Obscure is a brutal, power of suggestion and hectic rock psychosis witch is quite unique and should be experienced live. The Band act as a playground for musicians under the slogan «freedom without responsibility», and create a musical universe witch is crispy, raw and intense.

Imagine a powerful mix of good, old and heavy Black Sabbath riffs and the powerful twin guitars and feeling of Thin Lizzy, and you might get close to Obscure’s sound. Hailing from Bergen in Norway, Obscure is one of the most promising and exciting bands playing classic and mind blowing doomy heavy metal.

Guitarist/vocalist Roy Kronheim used to play in Enslaved, and more or less introduced the more progressive and rock influenced side of that band. With Obscure, he and his comrades take’s it out all the way, and it sound enormous and grandiose as well as hard-hitting and heavy. You can hear influences from before mentioned Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy, but also classic bands like Pentagram, Blue Oyster Cult, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. They’ve also done a great cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Massacre”.

“On Formaldehyde” is an awesome and diverse classic heavy metal album, just the way it should be!
