About Nina Amelio

British Columbia, Canada based Pop recording artist Nina Amelio began her vocal training with award-winning Jazz singer Cheryl Hodge and remains grounded as she emerges in the international music scene by thinking of home in the Kootenays ‘Koots Roots’. “I think of being free and being myself, of acceptance”. Nina gathers inspiration and artistic influence from the likes of Adele, Anne Wilson of Heart, and Michael Jackson. “Adele is an amazing vocalist and song writer and just a real woman. I look up to her. Her music got me through the death of my brother and helped me find myself.”

In 2013, Nina recorded her debut EP, ‘Spell and Reflection’, with producer Brandon Delyzer at Baker Studios in Victoria, BC. Dipping more into the blues/pop arena, ‘Spell and Reflection’ featured Nina’s smooth vocals and an addictive laid back vibe. Nina’s single ‘Tides’ debuted on radio in early 2014 on 101.9 K-Rock, live on The Blues Show and continued to receive radio play and it began spreading to other stations across BC and Alberta until CBC Radio picked Up Only Human for a feature on North By North West.

Nina recently placed Top 10 in the regional finals for CBC’s Searchlight Competition with her song about empowerment and abuse, ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ Radio One and Juice FM ended up putting the song into rotation during April 2015 and the song has continued to pick up steam In the UK and World Wide on Deuce Radio. As fans and supporters take notice of the single, Nina remains passionate about spreading her message to help put an end to bullying and has received an incredible outpouring of support during the push for ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ from those who resonate with its message.

Digging deeper into who she is, Nina gives us further insight. “I approach song-writing by a feeling. I don't wake up and say I am going to write a song today. Usually it just comes to me from the world around me and I have to record it or write it down, or something happened to me (an experience) and I need to get it out.” The Canadian Pop artist relieves stress by working out, relaxes while reading a good book such as ‘Forever Interrupted’ by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and describes her favorite meal as pizza in Italy. Nina supports directly with funding and benefit performances local and national Charities and Social causes including the Food Bank the Canadian Christian Fund. “I want Nina Amelio to be remembered as a great singer and artist, but most of all, as a great person, who was kind and always helped others.”


Taking her music to the next level, Nina is working on new music with hit songwriter/producer Mark Zubek (Grammy winner Betty Carter), owner and founder of Zedd Records, a record label based out of Toronto, Canada. Nina has clear goals and a concise plan to grow her fan base and make her music available to international music consumers. She is now under the wing of elite US based management company, Arrow Music Agency after recently signing an exclusive worldwide management deal. This new union will help build the Nina Amelio profile internationally creating diverse opportunities. Arrow Music Agency is headed up by Chris Sobonya (President), and has a roster of worldwide artists from countries such as the US, Canada, Sweden, France, The Netherlands, New Zealand, UK, and Australia.
