Broken Dreams, review

A Great Review of our song, :Broken Dreams". https://www.musicxray.com/…/10690/submissions/1360278/manage Foley Entertainment Music Feedback and Phone Consultation Your Quote Great song with strong lyrics Your Review RATING SCALE "1" Indicates the Lowest Score "5" Indicates The Highest Score Recording Quality/Production: 4 Lead Vocals: 4.5 Lyric Writing: 4.5 Musicianship: 4 Music Composing: 4 Melodies: 4.5 Song Arrangement: 4 Overall Delivery: 4.5 Thanks for submitting the material for the evaluation. I enjoyed the song and I'm glad that you reached out. The lyrics were the highlight of the song to me. They really have something to say to the listener. I could see this song being embraced by a TV show or movie in need of a song w/ the theme of these lyrics. To give you insight to the scoring scale above, the majority of artists / songwriters score in the 2.5 to 3.5 range in the various categories. Whenever a person sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop. When someone sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, it's a validation from a professional, confirming that the songs are of the highest level and show strong potential in the ultra-competitive music industry. To really raise the bar, every artist should work hard to earn a 4.5 or 5 in every category. It's a very competitive business and people averaging in the 3's (or less) will probably not get too far without a great deal of improvement and development. I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done! For artists who are trying to gain the attention of record companies, music publishers, booking agents or top managers, make sure the game plan includes publicity & college radio promotion, live performances, social media efforts and music & merchandise sales at the minimum. There are many newspapers, regional music magazines and online blogs that will do music reviews for artists. Just having great songs and a strong live show are no longer enough in today's music business. Artists have to show industry executives they have a product that has been marketed successfully on the local or regional level and that a real buzz is being built. For people who solely want to be pro songwriters (and not recording / touring artists) - people who want to place their songs with artists who are already signed to a record company, or people seeking to place their songs into TV shows and movies --- for those people, keep working hard to write and demo the strongest songs possible. Try to make connections with industry executives at various music business networking events and music conferences.
