Moonlyn offers up an alternative rock sound with a twist of electronica and a touch of erotica. She works alone and creates energetic original material on her computer, that is refreshingly different from today's trends.
Moonlyn's debut album "Butterfly Girl" has been released for only a short while now and can be considered a success. While Moonlyn's efforts lack the publicity and marketing that a large record label could provide, her popularity has spread regardless. Moonlyn has had radio play in various college & mainstream stations in Toronto, the U.K. and in the Philippines. Moonlyn’s album “Butterfly Girl” was the editors pick for 2 months in 2004 when it was first added to the All Music Guide Website.
The video for the popular song “Butterfly Girl” was added to rotation on such popular networks as Zed TV in Canada where Moonlyn was the featured artist in March 2005 and on Mss Vision, IMN TV and Free TV in the U.S. This video was also a finalist at the 2005 Planet Ant Film and Video Festival in Detroit, Michigan.
The song “Butterfly Girl” reigned in the no.1 position in the Alternative Main and General Sub-Charts on the worldwide popular site Sound Click, for over 8 consecutive weeks - from March to May 2005. Moonlyn was also rated the best Independent Alternative artist in Toronto and stayed within the top 20 all time Independent artists in the world on Sound Click for over 8 weeks, peeking at the 12th position- from March to June 2005.
Moonlyn is self-managed and carves her own path with confidence. Her popularity has increased just by word-of-mouth and has endowed her with an underground following scattered across the globe. She emits a certain charm that keeps many coming back again and again. There is more to her than meets the eye and more of her yet to come...
Moonlyn is currently in the pre-productions stages of a bunch of new songs, that will be apart of her second independently released album. And again she is working on it in its entirety all alone in her bedroom studio- on her computer. One of her newest songs titled "It's Love" that will be on her upcoming album, has made it to the semi-finals in the 2008 UK Songwriting Contest. | | |
